Something I've been working on . . .
I wanted to create a mini scrapbook of pictures of the kids but I wanted it to be different. When I went through my piles of instructions, projects and a few blogs I found this great scrapbook idea. It's called a Pop Up or Pop Out scrapbook and it does exactly that. It reminds me of a little house with rooms.
** I have been trying to find some pictures of the kids to fill the pages but none of them seemed to work - I need to have girls!!!
Recognize the papers?? It's the Sending Love paper on the Clearance Rack!!

Super Sneak peek!
I truly have been a busy beaver the past few days. I had a list as long as my arm of projects to begin, complete and plan for the month of January and I can now say I have done most of them. No, not all but that's what next week is for (when the kids are back in school) and I'm not tied up playing Ticket to Ride or Squarrels. BTW, if you haven't seen either of these games they are super fun. The best part of Christmas is getting new games from Santa, almost as good as new stamps. . . almost.
Well, today I have a sneaky sneak peek of my WOW project class for January. This is something new I'm trying to show my customers some new card making techniques, Big Shot projects and/or scrapbooking projects without a monthly club commitment. On the first of each month I will be posting photos of the projects that will be featured in that months class. You can register for the class starting on the 1st of the month and class maximum is 9. So join me as a follower or put my website in your bookmarks so you can check back on the first of the month (or every day if you'd like.)
For January I will have three different style cards all LUV themed! They could be Valentine, Anniversary or Thinking of you! Cost $10 or a $30 order. Contact me after January 1st to register.
Class date: Wed, January 19th 6-8pm
Here are just some teasers pics of the upcoming projects.
I can't wait to show you the whole thing!
Cheers,
K
PS I should tell you that my WOW projects use an older retired Designer Series paper called Sending Love. The best thing is that it is still available on the Clearance Rack for only $6.19 for 12 sheets of super sparkly paper! Quick go now and pick up a pack for your Valentine's projects and pages.

January Paper Crafter's Workshop
When I post the projects we are doing for my Kids Camps this is often where I get into trouble. Everyone else sees what the kids will create and then they want to join! To share or not to share. . .
I opt to share and bring on the trouble! With the Paper Crafters group (ages 10 and up) we will be creating 6 birthday cards and a holder for these cards.
Can you spot all the new stamps and punches on these cards? New stamps are sooo very exciting!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Ready for a laugh!
Today we ventured outside (I don't think I've been out since Christmas Eve) and went toboganning at our little hill. Here are some pics from the day MDS style! This page seriously took me 15 minutes. Love it! The majority of the time was spent trying to find a font for the title.
Here are a few videos we took as well. Get ready for a laugh :)
Thanks for checking in. Tomorrow I'll post photos of those cards for the Paper Crafters Workshop.

Merry Canuck Christmas!
Just a few shots from our Christmas morning. Even though we live in Calgary this family is all about the Vancouver Canucks, especially this year. This Christmas was a Canuck Christmas. T-shirts, mouse pad, posters, wallets, blankets, magnets and more. If they had Canuck Lego then the boys would be in heaven!
I spent Boxing Day in my stamping room creating some projects for my upcoming Kids Camp in January so check back tomorrow to see some new Birthday cards with the Playdate Designer Series papers.

We are that kind of family! I know, weird :)
A couple of night ago there was a lunar eclipse and I thought I'd share some our photos from the night.
Pete and I stayed up late (I was stamping) and we woke Andrew up at 11:30. We let Nathan sleep as I know who can and can NOT handle lack of sleep.
It was quite amazing and there won't be another lunar eclipse on the winter solstice until 2094. Somethings you just have to stay up for!
Have a happy Christmas eve and enjoy spending time with your family!

K

Simple Christmas take 2
Something tells me I should have done this card WAY WAY before 2 days before Christmas A friend of mine showed me her version of this card and I loved it and today I finally got around to re-creating it. I think maybe I'll stamp a few more and get ahead of the game for next year. Um, wrapping, baking, shopping and cleaning, not likely.
Stamps - Pocket Silhouettes, Four the Holidays.
Inks - Old Olive, Real Red
Paper - Real Red, Whisper White
Accessories - 1 3/8" circle punch, 1/8" Taffeta ribbon, Red fine galaxy glitter
Thanks for stopping by.

Another sneak peek
I have so many new stamp sets sitting here it is soo hard not to use them. So I wont - this new Birthday set called Bring on the Cake it so yummy! This card is honestly just 1/2 a sheet of Whisper White paper. I stamped and masked the sentiment and just sponged the tie dye colours around it. Super easy!

I had a total 30 minutes to stamp today and that was it. I just love this Medallion stamp but it truly doesn't see ink enough in my house. I think I'm leaning towards Valentine's day with those hearts though.
Stamps - Medallion, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper and Ink - Pear Pizzazz, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Accessories - Vintage Wallpaper folder, Small heart punch, Heart to Heart punch, modern label punch

Cards are in the mail!
Sorry for the lack of posts this weekend. It was a fun family weekend full of Christmas party, piano recital, play time and of course Christmas card writing.
Whew! I could not have done it without Pete's help. Now today he is going to mail them all! All 90+ of them.
Tomorrow I hope there is time to create a new card (but those kids are home on break - eek! I'll post it later tomorrow if I can squeeze one in. Hope you had a great weekend!

I'm done!
Not with shopping, not with baking, not with Christmas cheer - just Christmas cards. Just kidding.
I while back I made these two cards when I was a bit "done" with Christmas. I thought I'd post these two "older" cards since I'll be busy shopping, driving the kids around and wrapping today.
Both of the cards have the same "card map" but they look completely different with different colours and materials.
If I'm absent in posts this weekend it's because I'm trying to get my Christmas cards in a mailbox. Making 100+ cards is one thing but actually getting them sent out is another - UGH!
Next year I'm going to start earlier. . . next year I'll start earlier . . .
Cheers,
K

My fave picture of the weekend!
This is going to be a non-stamping post but I had to share a picture or two from Pete's Christmas party this past weekend.
They had a balloon guy (what is their real title, anyways?) that made balloon creations for the kids. You will never guess what Nathan asked for?
Yep, a candy cane, but he chose orange and purple?? A Halloween candy cane? He sure was happy.
Andrew was next. He chose a blue whale. That stumped the guy - big time. He convinced Andrew that he could made a baby blue whale - otherwise known as a fish!
BUT this one is my all time fave! I asked Andrew to make a fish face and this is what he came up with. Hilarious!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Wednesday!

Downline meeting and gifts:)
Last night I held my first large gathering with my newest downline. I made a small card and gift bag for each of them with a cardstock sample swatch and a small sampling of ribbons. Here they all are:
Each person made a sample page of all the inks, markers and papers that are available. I made mine at Convention in July and I hope that many of these ladies will be able to join me in July 2011. It was an awesome experience.
This was the card we made as a make n' take. It uses that awesome Create a Cupcake set and punch.

K

New goodies!!!!
I have been so looking forward to Monday when I could show you some of my newest and beautiful treats that arrived last week. LOVE IT!
I used one my new sets from the upcoming Occasions Mini called Create a Cupcake (again my obsession with cupcakes) AND it comes with a matching PUNCH! Ack - too exciting. The colours used in this card are Pacific Point, Old Olive, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White. I used the Brushed Silver cardstock and oval punches to create the "plate" underneath the cupcake. Can you spot any other new goodies on this card?
I'm looking forward to my new downline meeting tonight. I'll post the great make n' take card we are creating tomorrow. More cupcakes!!!

December Big Shot projects
Happy Sunday!
I can't believe the weekend has gone by that fast! I had a relaxing weekend of Christmas card making, Christmas letter writing and spending time with the kids and Pete. It was great!
I can't wait to share with you this super cute purse project that we are doing at my Big Shot club this week.
The top flap is a Top Note die scored at either side of the middle point (about an 1/8" in between the two lines.) I will demo the Faux Alligator technique with clear embossing powder. The measurements of the purse bottom are 4x8 and it is scored at 4". The gift card sits inside the purse. I'll be making more of these for teachers for sure!

Deck the Halls paper
Another Christmas creation! I made this card using the Bells and Boughs set and Deck the Halls Christmas paper. From now until Dec 16th you can purchase both of these items for 20% off. Wood mounted set - 29.96 and Clear set - 24.36
I will be placing my last order on Dec 16th so don't miss out on this spectacular special. Think of the great scrapbook pages you can create with this set as well as next year's Christmas cards (or this year's if you are behind like me.) Here is a sample page with all the patterns in the Deck the Halls paper.

Tis the Season . . .
Ack it's the middle of December (and my Christmas cards are NOT done). Am I feeling stressed - YES! That's what this weekend is for :)
I have been too busy creating non Christmas cards. I have received my pre-order with goodies from the new mini catalogues and I have been creating up a storm. I can't wait until the new year starts! As I can't show you the actual stamps or punches yet, I will show you one of my creations next week so check back on Monday.
Today's card uses the Jolly Holiday paper and the tree is made with the photo corner punch. Super cool!
Have a great Friday!

Clean and simple and a little bit heavy
I love how this card turned out. I have a ton of buttons from Holiday Mini and I just had to STOP hoarding them and use them. It is a little top heavy though :)
The set Curly Cute is a MUST get. I love the font and all of the sayings in this set work year round. Check out page 149 of the catalogue.
Stamps - Curly Cute
Paper - Whisper White, Garden Green, Blushing Bride, Real Red, Baja Breeze
Inks - Garden Green
Accessories - Big Designer Buttons (Candy Cane), 1 3/8" circle punch, Whisper White 1/8" Taffeta

A new creation - FINALLY!
Greetings to you (all of the 5 followers I have, ha ha, just kidding)
After my fun weekend of baking with my kids camp and making shrinky dink jewelry (that was sooo much fun) I sat back on Sunday evening and created some new cards.
This first card uses the Every Little Bit set and Word Play. I love these two sets as they were my first choices from the 2010-2011 catalogue and the best part is I earned them for free from Stampin UP!
Here is the recipe:
Paper - Whisper White, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry
Ink - Old Oilve, Rich Razzleberry, Black Staz-on
Accessories - Big Shot, Petals a Plenty folder, Decorative Label punch, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Glimmer brad - Basics, Cutter Kit

Christmas Recipes
Here are the recipes as promised.
I'll start with my most fave - Nanaimo Bars
Base - Combine in a double boiler - 5 tbsp cocoa, 1/2 c butter, 1/4 c white sugar, 1 tsp vanilla and 1 egg. Melt but do not cook. Combine 2 c graham wafer crumbs, 1c fine coconut and 1/2 c chopped nuts ( I use walnuts). Add to the chocolate mixture and spread into a 9x9 pan.
Filling - Mix together 3 tbsp vanilla custard powder, 1/4 c softened butter, 3 tbsp milk and 2 c icing sugar. Spread over cocoa base and let stand 15-20 min.
Top - Melt 2 squares semi sweet chocolate, 3 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp cocoa and 1 tbsp water. Spread over top and refrigerate.
Yummies
Thanks to my friend Tammy these are a staple at Christmas time here. I'm not sure of my exact measurements. I've made them so much I don't really measure. These taste like Clodhoppers if you have ever had those.
3 and a bit c white chocolate wafers
1 c salted peanuts
1 c raisins
5 c Golden Graham cereal
Melt white chocolate wafers in a double boiler. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Pour melted chocolate over the cereal mixture and combine. Spread onto wax paper lined cookie sheet and cool. Break into pieces and try not to eat them all.
Last but not least - Peppermint Cups
I have made Peanut Butter cup cookies for many years but last year my friend Jennifer tweaked the recipe and made these. Today we actually baked these for our Kids Camp today and everyone got to take home 6 to share with their family. I'm wondering how many made it all the way home :)
1 c butter
1 c white sugar
1 c brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
3/4 c cocoa
2 1/4 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 bag of mini Peppermint Cups - I use the President's Choice ones, I usually get two bags just in case I have more dough.
Preheat oven to 375 F. Cream butter and sugars, Beat in eggs and vanilla. Mix in cocoa, flour and baking soda. Shape into 1" balls and place into mini muffin tins. Bake 9-11 min. Immediately from oven press a peppermint cup into each. Cool completely and remove from the pan.
Hope you try one of these yummy desserts this holiday season and tomorrow I'll be back with a new STAMPED creation!
Cheers,
K

My non stamping day
I still don't have any stamping projects but I do have some yummy photos of my Christmas baking. Yep, I started that and now I get to start the Christmas eating. Christmas season does not start until I have had my first Nanaimo Bar - Yum! Okay I lied - this is the second pan of Nanaimo bars. The first pan - GONE!
Then I made Peppermint cups.
And then Yummies.
Check back tomorrow and I'll post the recipes.
Cheers,
K

Out of my element
Yesterday was WAY busier than I thought so I'm afraid I didn't get a chance to get on the computer let along blog about it.
Sorry.
Saturday is busy with Kids Club, and preparation for the upcoming Sam Livingston Craft night so I know I wont get a chance to make anything with paper but I did make something new.
I made this wreath at a craft night at my friend Karen's house. It was completely out of my "comfort zone" of paper crafting but soo much fun!
Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by.
Cheers,
K
