Remember me?

Let me introduce myself   . . .

Ha, ha kidding, well sort of.

I'm sure you probably guessed by now but we were away. Now we are finally back from our almost two week vacation extravaganza!  There were 5 cities, 3 different hotels, a tent trailer and a basement all involved in our travels but it was an amazing two weeks of family time, sight seeing, museums, boat tours and of course shopping!  More than the kids wanted too but they got their share of new purchases too (LEGO!!!)

So I'll be back to my regular blogging next week after I get these kids settled into a back to school bedtime!

If you are free I have some spots for my card buffet on Saturday from 1-5pm.  Email me or give me a call if you are interested!

$5 for your spot fee and you pay just $2.50 per card you make.

Have a great long weekend and I'll "see" you soon!

Cheers,
K

Kids projects with the Big Shot

The easiest part of my Big Shot presentation was coming up with Kids projects.  I love making things for and with my kids.

Great projects with the new Muslin bags.

A great idea for kids birthday parties or birthday crafts.

Kids Stick puppets would be great to make with the kids and take with you on a road trip or appointment

And what a great Christmas kids projects!  Christmas tags for the kids to colour.
 Thanks for checking in.

That's my new hand carved light saber too!

These thinlits are soo easy to use!   I must get the Labels one too!

Undefined - My first carving!! ( a little long)

You know when you have a list of 100 things to do but the only thing you REALLY want to do is not on your list?

That was me on Tuesday!

I have been totally awe-inspired by my downline, Allison Okamitsu and what she has done lately with the new Stampin UP product Undefined.  She has become addicted to carving and I'm completely jealous with what she has done with a little bit of rubber! Go check out her blog!

My Undefined kit arrived and of course I had NO ideas or inspirations on what to carve.  Ok, the usual hockey ideas came to mind and of course, the Canucks logo too but nothing that was CALLING to me.  And then I was folding laundry Tues morning and Voila - The inspiration!  Nathan's Darth Vader t-shirt!

I WANT TO CARVE DARTH VADER!!!

I found an image online (I was not going to attempt this free hand).  I showed Nathan and his response was "Are you sure, Mom?  It looks a little tricky."  Such faith.  Well, I started and quickly realized I should not have started with Darth.  A nice star or heart would have been good.

After a 10-15 minutes (really, I'm not kidding) I had this.

It was looking pretty rough on the rubber side but inked it up and it wasn't too bad.  I had Nathan come and 'accuracy' check it and then inked the wood with my very first hand carved stamp.

Here is my first Darth card.

I used the Photopolymer stamp set Designer Typeset  (132956 - $16.95) for the words.  What a great way to say ANYTHING I want!

Check out this Stampin' UP Video sharing the new Undefined Kit!

 Get yours today!

133402 - $25.95
And don't forget to add the refill kit because once you do one you'll want to do more.
134808 - $12.95 Just the rubber, wood and mounting pieces to make more stamps!
I can't wait to make more Darth cards to share with you.  Stay tuned!

Cheers,
K

New Envelope Liner Framelits

I was giddy when I saw the new Envelope Liner framelits and knew I needed to use these for my Big Shot presentation.

Not only can they be used for lining your envelopes with matching pretty Designer Series paper you can make these cool pocket cards too.

I made this one using the middle size envelope liner framelit (for note cards).

I trimmed it down to the measurements shown and made the pocket for the front of the card.   You could put a gift card or other treats inside.

Add caption

With this card I used the smallest envelope liner framelit (for square mini cards) and made a smaller pocket.  And don't you love the Modern Medley Designer Series paper - too cool for words!

Thanks for checking in!  We have a busy week so skating lessons - yep, you read that right.   The kids are taking skating lessons and loving it.  It's kinda weird to see some kids in snow pants in August though.

Cheers,
K

I did it!! I went camping . . . in a tent!

Happy Friday!

This week I went on my first camping trip!!  I went with my sister a LONG time ago (I think I was 12) but this was my first trip with Pete and the kids.  The usual routine for us is I go to Salt Lake City for Convention and Pete takes the kids camping.  Well this year we all went out together and IT WAS FUN!

Here are some pics from my first camping adventure.

Top 3 highlights
1) Camping food - too many good things to mention - S'mores, bacon over the fire, smokies and of course some more s'mores.
2) Swimming at Radium Hot Springs
3) Everything else including the last night when a huge storm rolled in and we had super loud thunder and pouring rain

Ready or not here I am!

The kids love their Yes and Know books we found at Radium Hot Springs.

My boys :)

The traditional ice cream after swimming - EVERY TIME or I'm told.

Just a few Big Horn Sheep near the camp site.

The full camping experience.  Pete trusted me with the ax, but maybe not the best footwear.

Dishes here or at home I'm there!

More wild life.

Hiding out in the tent just before the storm hit.  A mean game of Uno brewing!

Half way through our short hike before we headed home.
I had a great time and we are definitely going again next year!

Hope you enjoyed this snippet of my family time.  I've tried hard to do a lot of things with the kids this summer while still getting some work done here and there.

I'm looking forward to a weekend of work.  Stamping ALL day on Saturday and Sunday is my card buffet. I still have spots if you'd like to come and create!  Contact me!

Cheers,
K

More Behind the Scenes pics

Just another post about me :)  Kidding, well, kinda.

My presentation buddy, Krista  just shared these with me so I thought I'd share them with you.

When we were getting ready to go on stage at Convention we were treated to a fancy makeover by the make up lady (who's name I can't remember for the life of me).  She was soo super sweet and applied more make up to me than I have ever had on in my life - kidding.

With Emily Montoya - A super sweet, professional and amazing person to work with
With Krista Frattin - one of my Convention presentation buddies

With Jana - the backstage manager extrordinaire!  She made the stage experience amazing and comforting all at the same time!!

Wah!  I can't believe it's been 3 weeks since Convention!!  I can't wait until Leadership in January!

Cheers,
K

This week has been a bit rough as Andrew got his braces on and if you have had braces before or kids with braces then you know what that is like.  He's been a real trooper and so begins the countdown for the next 30 months.
