I'm back from California!

I was so fortunate to have spent the past weekend in Newport Beach on a Stampin UP Getaway trip! Thank you to all my customers, friends and family for supporting me in my business!

I took my sister, Stephanie, on this trip since 1) Pete couldn't come because he had to work and 2) she has always gotten the babysitting duty on my other Stampin UP excursions. Now it was her turn. It was an amazing sister bonding trip, gorgeous weather and fun times, now I wish we could go back!

Here are a few pics of my trip.

We arrived on Thursday and the first night was a group dinner at Cucina Enoteca.  We dined with demonstrators from Hawaii, Detroit, New Brunswick and a Stampin UP corporate team member.
Each night I was greeted with a special pillow gift.
Night one was treats for us!

We had a special SU exclusive shuttle to take us to Laguna Beach.  A hot humid day but such a lovely walk along the beach, and wonderful lunch at Tommy Bahamas.

Dinner was at Cheesecake Factory - Luau salad and Avocado rolls. WOW. I forgot to take a pic of the cheesecake but trust me it was heavenly and included chocolate.
Pillow Gift #2 - OMG! A big box of great Stampin UP goodies!
I joined a late night swap with Getaway Achievers - they were all gorgeous!

Every morning we were treated to a hot breakfast buffet in the Rose Garden.  Just a tad picturesque.

And the hotel lobby had these fresh flowers greeting us each day.  The smells were sooo good.  I wish I could have bottled it and brought it home.
A morning of paddleboarding.  A belated birthday gift from Steph.

And we didn't fall in!  That was the biggest surprise of all!

There was a bit of pool time each day.
Pillow Gift #3 - A matching tote to go with the Zipper pouch I received at the beginning of the trip with our travel documents.
Last food pic - Chowder Fries from Slap Fish.  French fries with Clam Chowder and bacon.  The Californian Poutine?

Time to head home. Thank you Stampin UP! It was amazing!

Hope you didn't mind me sharing all my vacation photos!  It was such a great trip I can't wait to earn the next one!
Cheers,
K

Hearth and Home and Sheltering Tree

One of my all time favourite sets is the Sheltering Tree.  I love the versatility of this stamp set and I know it will be a favourite of mine forever!

I added a few other sets as well so be sure to check the listing below on all the great products I used on this card.

There are lots of little details on this card like the fussy cutting on the vase, small pearls on the flower centers and the tiny bird popped up in the tree.  This was a fun one to create.

Have a great weekend!

  Cheers,
K

Hearth and Home - Shaker card

I think the best part about the Hearth and Home dies is that they lend themselves so well to shaker cards.  I used a stamp from the set "To You and Yours Too" to create the window scene.  I would NEVER  normally used a whole piece of foil for the background but I love the way it turned out.

Just a close up of that Calgary blizzard in there.  Can you see the trees and cute deer in the background through the snow?

I hope you are enjoying my cards with the Hearth and Home thinlits.  I really like tomorrow's cards so be sure to check back to see my last card of the week.

Cheers,
K

Hearth and Home PLUS Just Kidding

Okay here is a card that's been brewing in my head for DAYS . . . WEEKS even!

Most of the cards I have been creating with this thinlits set in mind have been windows looking to the outside.  Well, I wanted to create one looking to a house or living room setting and I THINK I HAVE DONE IT!

These ladies are adorable! I left the card blank but it could be a cute birthday card, friendship card or even a goodbye card.

This set is called Just kidding and the sayings in this set make it a MUST have!

K

Halloween Happy Scenes

I will admit I don't make a lot of Halloween cards but I LOVE Stampin UP's Halloween goodies! We make the best stuff EVER!  I loved the cute corner stamp in the Happy Scenes stamp set so here is my take with the window thinlits too.

The photo doesn't really do this card justice (in my opinion) but it's because you can't see the black Glimmer paper.  I also trimmed my window to it would have straight sides and turned the die cut on it's edge.  I should add some of that spooky white cotton web stuff to this card too!

Cheers, I mean BOO to you!

Hearth and Home Thinilits - double wide window

I am in love with these thinlits as they are soo versatile! I can't wait to share with you some of the fun creations I made using the thinlits plus other stamp sets.

Here is the "extra wide" window created from using the above thinlits. I saw this amazing video from Angela Lorenz how to create this double window and TADA life changing :)  Okay maybe not that extreme but the possibilities are endless!

Hope you enjoy this week's cards using the Hearth and Home thinlits!

There wasn't much stamping going on this weekend due to the sale but I hope to share more of the extra samples I made with the Hearth and Home framelits.  My mind is buzzing with all the great thigns you could make!

The easel card is inspired from a fellow demonstrator, Sara Poulton. Thanks for the fantastic idea.  She placed a battery operated tea light behind the fire place to appear that it's glowing. I'll be purchasing one tomorrow and I'll post the cool effect tomorrow.

The second card features the new paper Home for Christmas plus a few more stamps from the Festive Fireplace set.

Register ASAP so I can order the supplies for you to attend this WOW class!
