What a great club night!

Last night was the first meeting of my Cardmaker's group. We meet on the 4th Tuesday of the month and create 2 projects and one technique page. The technique page expands your repertoire of stamping tricks and tips and gives you a handy reference card and sample. We had so much fun and it's not too late to join! All club members will earn at minimum a level 1 stamp set and $20 free merchandise.  Contact me for more details.
We experimented with different way to ink your stamp - reinkers and a tie dye ink pad technique, markers and of course ink pads!

Just Believe - Rich Razzleberry and Perfect Plum

Because I Care (Hostess Level 1) - Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue & Perfect Plum

Well, here it is a few days late. And I have a class date for this one!  No age discrimination this one is for the adults!!!

Date: Wed, Nov 10th

Cost: $15

Choose from NOEL or Let it Snow (not shown), but it's SUPER cute!

Class maximum is 9 so please register early!!!

Guess where I was this morning

This was my spot.

Here is the rest of the line (about 20-30 in front of me).

Yep, you guessed right! The new Apple Store in Chinook Mall.
Woke up at 5am. Left the house at 5:40. At Chinook by 5:55 and in the store at 7:50. Seriously.

Nighty night. Time for a nap.

Why you ask? I signed up for a One to One membership or classes on how to use your Mac which is generally only done at the time you buy your computer, but I didn't. For the first 250 people they were selling them to current Mac owners to purchase it after the fact. Strange but true it was worth it to get up that early. Everyone else was getting the iPhone 4. Almost got caught up in the frenzy and bought one and an iPad but I held strong. I need to buy more stamps not an electronic toy!

A great time to sign up!

If you can't tell I love being a Stampin UP demonstrator! When I signed up 3 years ago, I honestly can tell you it was because I received a set of inks for FREE!  I convinced Pete how much money I'd save by signing up {wink, wink} and he bought it!  Little did he know that three short years later I'd be taking him on a trip to Alaska all paid for by Stampin UP!

Now is a fantastic time to sign up with the Greenhouse Gala tote bag (value 49.95) as a great incentive!  Not only is the Starter Kit just $215, it is completely customizable to your needs and desires from the catalogue! Sign up before October 18th and receive this tote for FREE! While supplies last.

Contact me for more details and we can set up a time to chat about this fantastic opportunity! Join me this weekend for a fun downline meeting and you can see how much fun having your own business can be!

Halloween treat boxes

One last sample from the Card Buffet weekend extravaganza!  This project wasn't a card but a treat box that you could give to a teacher, friend or someone special.  I {heart} the candy wrapper die.  I'm planning to make a bundle of these for the kids to take to school. Super cute!

More samples from this weekend

These two cards were ones created or CASED from Convention.  Thanks for the inspiration Lisa and Rose.
This one was stamped in a hotel room - I'm not joking!

Thanks Rose for this cute idea!

Enough of Christmas

Today I dropped off Andrew at school for his Grade 6 Outdoor School trip (sniff, sniff).  He was so excited to go and I was excited for him but I'm going to miss him.  They are sleeping in tents at Writing on Stone Provincial Park.  It's far, far away from here, but it's only two nights and thankfully it is supposed to be getting warmer.  Fingers crossed. His gear was in a big hockey bag that was heavier than he was so it was pretty comical to see him try to lift it.

Since today was a bit of a downer day for me I'm going to post an older card but a cheery one.   Here's the recipe:
Stamps - For All You Do
Inks - Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight
Paper - Whisper White, Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight
Accessories - Rhinestone brads, Bigz Butterfly, White Satin Ribbon, Modern Label punch, Boho Blossom punch

Oct Paper Crafter's workshop sneak peek

This one is too "SPOOKY" for words.  I have had many adults requesting to create this but sorry, this one is for the kids.

I was inspired by a Halloween banner from a fellow demonstrator on Stampin Connection.  SC is an online community site for all Stampin UP demonstrators to share tips and tricks, stories and most importantly IDEAS!  This was such a fantastic idea that I knew I had to CASE it (Copy and Share Everything). Thank you Sheia.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone creates at our October meeting.

If you like these banners then you'll have to see what I will share with you tomorrow. ** Check the post for September 27th!!

K

Kids Class sneak peek

If your child is in my Stamp Camp Step 1 or 2 you can avert your eyes if you want it to be a surprise, but I wanted to share with everyone the fun project that we are doing in October.

It started in my mind as a BOO banner but then the creative juices were a flowin' and this is what came out. Can you believe all the creatures were made with punches!  I love' em!  Tomorrow I'll share what the Paper Crafter's workshop will be creating.

If you have a child that might be interested in joining our monthly meetings of the creative minds contact me.  I have only a few spots available Saturdays 10-12  (7-9 years) and Sundays 1-3 (10 years and up.)   We meet once a month where we create, play and of course snack!

K

Almost Winter?

It sure feels like it here.  It could be my fault as I've been creating Christmas cards like crazy!  This one uses the new Snowglobe set, glass glitter and the Northern Flurry snowflake die from the Holiday Mini. Dare I start singing - Let it Snow, Let it snow, Let it snow . . . ACK!!

K

More page layouts!

Some more wonderful page layouts to share. Enjoy and I hope this inspires you to scrap more!  I know I'm going to.

Great colours that make these photos POP!

I LOVE LOVE the photo configuration on the left side.

The photos, the stamps, the colours!  GASP so beautiful!

Scrapbook Night!!

Last night was the first meeting of my scrapbooking club.  I was nervous to start my first SCRAPBOOK group, would they like my pages, would they be too linear, too simple, but I didn't have to worry - it was fun!  I'm not kidding it was amazingly fun!

Paper was flying, ribbons were consumed and lots of heat tooling (is that a word?) There were some amazing pages created and I'll post some of the great creations today and tomorrow.  I'm missing one though . . . how did you get that one past me Tracy.

Cheers,
K

Amazing colour combo I never thought to try!

I can't believe how Michele used the embossing folder - so creative!

I LOVE the colour choice and the bling!

I love the way you had mats on some photos and not on others.

More play time

I'm trying to create a few samples for my October Card Buffet.  It's hard with so many great stamp sets and papers.  How can I decide!!!

I was cutting up my Jolly Holiday Designer Series paper for a Card Buffet and I was left with all these "little bits" of paper.  I thought this would be a great time to get out my punches.  You always have a TON of scraps left when we scrap or make cards so here is a great idea of what you can do with them.  It was easy, peasy and super fast to make.

Stamps - Holiday Happiness
Paper - Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Jolly Holiday
Inks - Cherry Cobbler
Accessories - 1 1/4" circle, Decorative Label punch, Deck the Halls button, twine

Stamps - Greeting Card Kids
Inks - Black Staz on
Markers - Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake
Paper - Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Watercolour paper
Big Shot - Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder, Top Note die
Accessories - Deck the halls fabric and buttons, Crochet trim and Vintage Trinkets

I found the directions for this card here. It is quite simple to create card but a definite WOW card to the recipient.  I love the Jolly Holiday Designer Series paper.  All the patterns in this pack will work fabulously on this card.

Paper - Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Jolly Holiday DSP
Inks - Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Versamark
Accessories - Cherry Cobbler seam binding, Ornament punch, Heat tool, Embossing powder, Chocolate Chip marker

SERIOUS ADDICTION ISSUES!

Today I received an order of supplies (yes, it's like Christmas here every week it seems) and although I knew it before I am now convinced.  I need help!

As many of you know, I'm a little organization freak! Okay a BIG organization freak! I use a lot of paper and have used this basket system since I started Stampin Up.  It has gone through several revisions but this is my fave - organized alphabetically.  It's easy to find any colour.  Oops, I just looked at the photo again and see that Whisper White at the front.  Okay it's organized alphabetically after Whisper White and Very Vanilla.  Do you know how much Whisper White I use!

Now I have to say even though this seems like a lot of paper it isn't nearly enough for the card buffets, clubs and kids camp projects (or that is what I tell Pete).  So, I have this shelf in my room that holds the "overstock" of paper.  You know my faves, extra packs of Whisper White etc.   Well, it's full.  The overstock is full.  Time to call 1-800-Addicted to paper (not Hoarders!)

** For any demonstrator viewing this it really is my stash for clubs and such, not cash and carry - I know I'm totally fueling my own addiction, but doesn't it look pretty :)

Off to work on a new project.

Cheers,
K

Loving' the Milk Carton die

On one of my crazy creating days I was testing out my new Milk Carton die and came across many blogs with this cute bird house. Thanks to the original creator! No stamping involved! (Sorry the colour is a bit off)

Paper: Baja Breeze, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, Crumb Cake, Certainly Celery, Basic Black
Big Shot - Milk Carton die, Beautiful Butterflies
Punches - Bird punch, 1 3/8" circle, scallop border and probably a few other things I can't remember as I'm posting this at 6:30 am! Mine own fault :)

I then created this to suit the upcoming season.

Paper - Basic Black, Elegant Eggplant, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and a teeny tiny piece of Chocolate Chip for the stem
Ink - Whisper White craft for inking the edges
Punches - Modern Label. Tiny Tag, 3/4" circle, Bitty Bat punch, 3/8" circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes pack
Other - White gel pen

Hope you like!
Cheers,
K

ps I promise I won't leave it to the last minute to post tomorrow's.

Today was so much fun!

Since I stopped teaching preschool I have been way too busy to miss it, but today I got my fix.

Just before class started and I was setting up Nathan innocently asked me, "Mom, what do you like best about Stampin Up?" In my hurried state, I quickly answered, "I don't know." He responded, " Is it teaching?"  Now after a long day of teaching I can definitely say, "Yes, it is just one of the things I love about my job."

Now to share with you another thing I love about Stampin UP - CREATING!  I found this idea on my friend Rose's site and I just had to make some for myself.  Gerbers are probably my second favourite flower (second only to tulips) and then I found this tutorial.  Totally unbelievable huh?  Flowers I can have year round in CALGARY!  Nathan really loved these when he saw them and he says they even smell like real flowers  . . . but then again he believes in the tooth fairy.

Cheers,
K

Scrapbooking club

I have been a busy beaver creating the last few day but today was another day off. Why you ask?

Because I received not 1, not 2 but 3 shipments of Stampin Up goodness. Let's just say it was one happy morning.

Okay it wasn't all for me, I do actually sell the stuff and not just buy it but one would never know if you looked around my craft room :)

I will share with you my scrapbook page for my new Scrapbooking group beginning next week.  I can't wait to start scrapbooking more often and what better reason to do it than to be creating pages for my class - it's work!  Unfortunately when I found Stampin Up my actual page production has gone downhill, but I'm looking to turn that trend around.

I love the look of the Satin flowers.  Yes, it was made with Stampin Up's satin ribbon. It's a fun technique and super easy.  You can join my Satin ribbon share and receive 3 yards of ribbon in 13 different colours!  Flowers galore!

** You can also learn how to do this technique by signing up for my Card Buffet on Sat Sept 25 or Sun Sept 26 some spaces still available.  On this card:

**Also last chance to enter my draw for a Free Early Espresso Classic Ink pad.  All you have to do is leave me a comment or join me as a stalker follower by midnight tonight!

K

Paper Crafter's Workshop

Here is the completed frame for this weekend's Paper Crafter's Workshop ages 10 and up.  I have spots left in the Sunday class so don't miss out.

I borrowed the colour scheme from the Idea Book and Catalogue.  Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Peach Parfait, Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz and Soft Suede.  All sorts of dies, embossing and even crumpling wet paper went into this project.
Thanks for looking,

K

I {heart} Stampin Up!

This weekend I was busying myself with prepping for upcoming classes, card buffets and such but I took a bit of time (okay it was at 1 in the morning) to start this project.

It is above my desk and my motivator to SHARE WHAT I LOVE. I already know I LOVE what I do but now I have a constant reminder with creative stuff around me.  Plus the added bonus is if you come to my house for a class you can see some samples of upcoming projects and classes.

Have a great day!
