Convention Make n' Take part 2

Glad you checked back:)

This is far too exciting for words.  Can you keep a secret?  Shhhh . . .  We have a CARD KEEPER BOX in the Holiday mini.  Ack!!!

Can you see why I stayed up until 1:30 am finishing (okay, really starting and finishing) this box? It is just sooo purdy!

So cute and functional too.  Want to know the best part. The label attaches separately and there are template directions so you can cut Designer Series Paper or fabric to change the look.  The box top here is covered in Timeless Portrait fabric.

You can add just the metal label or dress it up with the chipboard piece from the On Board Merry Medley.

Side view of this awesome flower decoration.

Ta Da!  I can't even count how many layers there are on this flower.  The center is one of the Simply Adorned Crystal Clear Baubles.  Lots of glue to make this project, sorry Lesli.

It gets even cuter.  It comes with plain white divider tabs.

Here they are all dressed up with the Timeless Portrait Designer Series Paper.  I think you need to put this paper on your wish list.  At Convention Stampin Up used it on a ton of projects.
If you think you'd like to make one of these card boxes in an upcoming class let me know.  These would make FANTASTIC Christmas gifts.  I promise I won't make you work until 1:30am like I did.  I'm trying to book off as many days for classes as I can this fall.  Email me what you'd like to create.

Cheers,
K

Convention Make n' Take part 1

I'm a crazy girl!  Monday night I stayed up until 1:30 am.  You'd think I was still at Convention.  I think it's because I'm just on a Convention hangover.

Why in the world would I stay up that late, you ask?

#1 reason - It's stinking hot here!

#2 reason at 11:00 I started to finish off my make n' takes from Convention and couldn't stop.

Here we are working frantically in Salt Lake.  They give you 2 1/2+ hours to complete the projects but the sheer awesomeness of  the projects make them impossible to complete in that time. It was a quick peek up from working and back to work - barely enough time for a "cheese."

Allison took this one of me and I didn't even stop what I was doing just turned my head.
We actually had quite a system going and "stamped by committee".  Thank you Lynsay Mahon for showing Kim this system.  We all cracked open our make n'take bags and divide up the projects.  Robin, Allison and I each had a card to create x 5 and Kim and April worked on the banner bits x 5.  Instead of having to create each project once and reading instructions over and over you become an expert on one card and re-create over and over and over again.

This was the finished project.

Small fabric flower on the triangle pennant, Pinwheel made with Timeless Portrait DSP and the center Cherry Cobbler circles are made with the new Petite Pennant Bigz die.

Robin's card with the new Raining Flowers and It's Your Day stamp set

Allison's card with the same stamp sets,  notice the Timeless Portrait fabric on the side.

My card.  I love the way they used the Lace Ribbon Border punch.  I punched a piece of card stock double the length of the card and folded it over to add some thickness to the card.

This post is getting longer and longer so I'll save the "masterpiece" Make n' Take for tomorrow.  I am giddy with excitement as it shows off a new item in the Holiday Mini.   I'm starting my phone calls to see who wants to receive the Holiday Mini so if you live in Canada and would like a copy of the holiday Mini email me. They will be sent in August in the nick of time for you to book your fall workshops.  This is THE BEST holiday Mini I have EVER seen - no joke!

Join me next year!

Put me on the list of those demonstrators that CAN'T miss Convention!  Here is a fantastic video to give you a small taste of what's like.

Aren't you infused with energy?  I want to invite you to join my team so I can share with you the excitement, enthusiasm and true spirit of this great company.  Before I left for Salt Lake I knew I loved to stamp and create, but this trip truly showed me how great it is to be involved with a company that is passionate, fun and genuine.

In the past few months I have met many, many demonstrators from all over Canada and the US and I am proud to say they are my friends.  The camaraderie from the trip down to Salt Lake, to the sharing of materials over make n' takes it all was possible because I decided to join Stampin UP! just 4 years ago.

If you think becoming a demonstrator may be something to add in your life or if you want to join me for Convention next year now is a great time to join.  On Sept 17, 2011 there will be a Regional Event in Edmonton and I'm planning to fill my van and go with my growing team of demonstrators! As an added bonus the first person to sign up with me between now and August 16th will receive your choice of stamp set from the Idea book and Catty or the new Holiday mini to add to your collection.

Being a demonstrator can be what you anything you want from it.  Join as a hobbiest for the discount or a business builder like myself.  I decided to become a full time Stampin Up demonstrator last year and have not looked back.  I'm having the time of my life!

If you have any questions about being a Stampin Up demonstrator call me and we can chat over an ice cream.  It's HOT out there !

I'm home :)

Hi everyone

I'm finally home after our 11 hour drive today.  Sorry I never got a chance to post any new photos from the last day of Convention but as soon as it was over we quickly left Salt Lake and headed for Pocatello to get a jump start on our trip home.  It was a good thing too because it was a long drive on day 2 but a fun one.  We brainstormed great ideas for our clubs and classes and I worked on my Designer Series Paper book and can't wait to show it off to you.  There are fantastic new designs that are terrific for scrapbooking and card making.

I'm off to unpack and unload my HAUL of stamp sets that I received at Convention (I'll show them off in another post) PLUS I came home to SIX new stamp sets and of course my Momento Mall goodies too.

Before I go I'll show you some pictures of the Garden Showcase.  There were displays to show off the new Designer Series Paper packs and all their co-ordinated goodies.  I took a ton of photos so be prepared to fall in love.

The first suite of products I'll show you is the Flirtatious Suite.  Check out page 126 of the Idea Book & Catalogue to see the great products that co-ordinate with this suite.
Here are just a few:
122362 Lace Ribbon border punch 25.95
122590/122592 Delicate Doilies stamp set 26.95 (w) 20.95 (c)

It's all about the shoes!

This morning came WAY too early. I think I know what it feels like when an elephant sits on your head.

I'm only going to show you a couple of pics from the main stage presentations.

Yesterday Shalae (Shelli's daughter) and Shelli presented on main stage and the day before Sara (another daughter) presented some new products.  Both of the presentations were hilarious but the one thing I noticed is the Gardner family's obsession with shoes.

This is Sarah.
And here were her shoes.  Aren't they just grand!
Sarah's presentation was all about the different kinds of shoes we have like the "dress to impress", "I'm in a hurry", old comfy favourites and the economical ones and tied this all into her stamping presentation.  Each time she changed her shoes she stamped a different type of card.  It was so funny and so true!

Shelli and Shalae presenting together for the first time.

And they wore the same shoes today and didn't even know it until they got here.  Like mother like daughter.
Shelli and Shalae presented different workshop hostess gifts, demonstration cards and make n'take cards.  they also shared a scrapbook project that was truly over the top. Amazing isn't it!

I took over 400 pictures today of the various displays in the Stampin Up product garden so when I do get some sleep I'll be sharing tons of my trip to Convention with you.

Night night,
K

This will be a short post since we stayed way late at the Awards night after party.  Here are some pictures from day 2.

Opening session  Here is where 1000's of demos gather for our first "meeting".

This year's theme and set design.  It is truly awesome!

Sorry Shelli, but this is the best photo of you out of the 10 I took.  It is truly amazing to hear her speak.

Opening session is full of laughter, product demonstrations and we were the first demos to see products from the new Holiday Mini.  (GASP)  Oh my goodness I don't even know where to begin.  Each page has to die for product, amazing stamp sets, new punches, Big Shot dies, paper and fabric and so much more.  I'm compiling my list of customers to receive the Holiday Mini so if you want to see the new products first hand please email me

After flipping through each page of the mini everyone one of us said - We're gonna be broke!  But good broke as we'll be spending it on STAMPS!

Two words - PRIZE PATROL!  This morning each demonstrator was given a Simply Sent Great Day kit and the top photo is of 4 demonstrator friends that received Big Top bundle of goodies and the Perfectly Penned stamp set.

Overall an unbelievable day and one that ended with an over the top awards ceremony but that post will have to wait until another day.

Good morning:)

Well good early morning here.  I got up early (for some strange reason) after a very good sleep and I'm just waiting for the shower here.  That's what you do when you are rooming with 4 other lovely ladies.

So I thought I'd take a sec and post some more pics of my day yesterday.  I am a VIP for this Convention so that means I get some "perks" while I am here.  How did I get to be a VIP?  For any demo that recruited in the month of April they received VIP status for Convention.  We have a special little comfort room only for VIPS with candy, water and lemonade treats.  Also there is a special display board for us and comfy couches to rest our weary toes.

On Wednesday we had a special guided home office tour where we saw some behind the scene things like
We got to go BEHIND the rope where the regular tour has to stop.  This is where the computer assigns each one of our orders a certain sized box.  It gets a bar code and becomes your customer or workshop order.

This is the pick line.  The boxes travel along this path and as the box is scanned if it needs anything from this section of the pick line such as card stock, snail etc it is "kicked off" the line and the employee scans it and fill the box with whatever is in her/his section.  There are lights on each product that let them know what to put in. SO cool!

The cool paper packing machine that ensures your orders are cosily packed in the box to avoid breakage along the route.

The finished boxes from the pick line.  This one whizzed by me with stuff in it.

Special room where they make the personalized stamps.  Yep, it smelled like burnt rubber.

Ack it really is true!  We had special access pass to the upper level offices and here is Shelly's office.  It was beautifully decorated  (almost staged like).  Then again if I knew that 180 demonstrators were coming to see my space I'd tidy a little too.
                                               l
The cretive ideas room for the SU staff.  Fooseball table, ping pong, comfy chairs, piano and a whole room with white boards on the walls for brainstorming.

At the end of our whirl wind tour we received a special little gift . . .

signed by Shelli herself.

There were these yummy caramels and a roll of Island Indigo ruffled ribbon.

I have a few more pics from the tour but it's my time in the shower so by for now and I'll write more later.

Cheers,
K
