More High Tide samples

Happy Monday!

Hope you had a great weekend despite the lack of sleep yesterday. Daylight Savings isn't quite as much fun in the spring.

Just a few more amazing samples using High Tide.
This beautiful card by Ellie Blake used the Seaside embossing folder in the background.  Just lovely.

As well, Gen Ko used the same embossing folder but this card has a different look when you use a different coloured ink for the light house.  Love how she tied in the By the Shore Designer Series paper too.

And this last card I love the flock of birds flying overhead.  Mo Dickie created this beauty.
Thanks for checking in with me. Cardmaking club is this week so it should be a busy one!

Happy Stamping!
Cheers,
K

More High Tide samples

More samples of High Tide to share with you.  I just love these set samplers as I can show you multiple ways to use the same set!

This one was so amazing as there isn't a light house in sight! Jenn Tinline created this peaceful card with just the birds.

Nancy Gauthier made this beautiful card using just the white embossing powder.  I also loved getting a sample with French text. I actually received quite a few of these.

Kay Smith's card had a lovely embossed background too. Check out the details in the sentiment as well with the sunshine background. Simply lovely.

I will share the last of my High Tide samples next week.  Until then have a fantastic weekend.

Cheers,
K

High Tide Set Sampler

High Ride is one of my favourite sets from the Occasions catalogue. This set  surprised me as one of my go to sets and when I received the samples of this set sampler at the Conference in January I knew it was going to be super popular with my customers as well!

This card by Lynsay Mohan has everyone stop for a second. Why? How did she do the background? The paper pack from Serene Scenery makes this card easily duplicatable and quick!

I like the way Alison Solven used the Designer Series Paper to "ground" the lighthouse and give it a pop of colour.

And Kim Stathakos used a great tone on tone technique - Bermuda Bay paper, ink and cardstock to make the focal image pop.

Hope you have a great Wednesday and enjoy the day despite the cold temps in Calgary!

K

Lift Me Up part 3

Here are two more Life Me UP cards from my set sampler.

I love the way Laurie LaRose used the Writing Notes background stamp for this "Just a note ... " card.

And this card from Lorna Raczynski is 3D! How cool is that and the vellum clouds are super unique!

I'm convincing you fall in love with set aren't I :)

Have a great weekend and check back on Monday for my club cards using this great set!

Lift Me Up samples part 2

One great thing I love about this set is the fact you can purchase the bundle and get the stamps and co-ordinating framelits with it for a 10% savings!

And during Sale-A-Bration with any purchase over $60 you can receive this Carried Away paper pack for FREE.

This card by Ellie Blake is a fancy fold and highlights the Carried Away Designer Series paper.

A collage sample from Jenn Tinline featuring the stamp set and Designer Series paper is so cute.

And Leena Girsa's card is adorable and also combines all these elements plus the ovals framelits. I love the way she used the cloud framelit for the sentiment too.

Hope you are inspired to lift someone's spirits today!

K

Life me Up inspiration

Here is a little "lift me up" inspiration for a Monday morning.

Here is the cover of my set sampler for Lift Me up.

 What is a set sampler?
It's a collection of cards from 10 different demonstrators from across Canada all featuring one stamp set.

Over the next few months I'll be featuring many of these cards as they are simply amazing! If you attend one of my classes be sure to check out these booklets in person.

Here is my card sample I created for the swap. I used a sponging technique plus a scallop circle punch to create the clouds.

I love how this card from Mary Louise Hamill is a completely different colour combo and uses the same stamp set.  I believe she used a watercolour technique and some type of glossy paper or window sheet to create this awesome shiny effect.

Check back to see more Lift me UP samples on Wednesday!

Cheers,
K

Get ready to be inspired!

Remember I mentioned something about  50+ swaps?

Well, here they are!  I participated in 6 set sampler swaps at the Canadian Business Conference and these swaps are over the top amazing!

I now have 10 cards all featuring one specific stamp set. I will be sharing many of these creations over the next several months. Just need time to photograph these beauties.

I think I'll be planning one of these swaps with my Team of demonstrators. Are you in? Contact me and we can go for tea and you can learn all the great benefits of being a Stampin' UP demonstrator! If you like to paper craft and would love getting a discount on stamping goodies you NEED this!

Perfectly Wrapped swap card

Here is another great swap card from Lisa Althouse. I love getting these happy cards in the mail once a month.

I love the little arrows to make a pattern in the background. So cool! And the colours -  Flirty Flamingo, Mint Macaroon and Basic Gray. She did a fantastic job using the Perfectly Wrapped stamp set to make a super cute card.

141960 Perfectly Wrapped $21.00

Perfectly Wrapped Project Kit - 8 bag and boxes that are super cute! $33.00

Pop of Paradise swap card

Another swap card to share! This time a feathered friend instead of a Foxy friend. Are you seeing the flamingo craze as much as I am?

I love this card from Karen Duke and so great how she paired it with the Swirly Scribbles framelits. Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo such a great summer colour combo too!

I spent much of the day organizing all my holiday catalogues and upcoming classes.  So excited to get these out to you so start checking your mailboxes next week!

Foxy Friends swap card

Hi there!

Finally some nice weather here at home!

I have been lucky to be participating in a swap with some fellow demonstrator friends.

This funky fold card is from Jenn Tinline using the new Foxy Friends stamp set and A Little Foxy Designer Series paper.

What I LOVE most about this card is that it folds flat for mailing but is super adorable when you can pop it up to display.

Thanks for checking in.

Cheers,
K

Wonderful swaps from wonderful friends

Hope you have had a great weekend! We had some great family time including Captain America, game night and a family dinner.  Those are the best weekends :)

I received some great cards from some fellow demonstrators across Canada. Each month we send each other cards and it's nice to get happy mail in amongst the junk mail. Plus it's a great way to get card samples with stamp sets I don't have.

This beautiful card was created by Alison S with

Jenn T created this sparkly sample with Going Global.

Karen D made this incredible card with Wetlands.

Lisa A made this fantastic card with Watercolour Wings.

And here is mine with the background stamp
Hope you enjoyed these fun cards.  I'm excited for the end of the month and my mailbox to be full of more cards again!

K

Happy "wet' May long weekend!

Despite the weather I think we can all say we are happy it's finally raining in Alberta!

This week has been a mixed bag of stamping and computer work but I am happy to say STAMPING has taken over my desk! I won't share the next WOW projects yet but suffice it to say they are pretty darn cool!

Here is a sneak peek at the new In Colors in the catalogue. I had a chance to use them this week and Dapper Denim and Sweet Sugarplum are pretty amazing. I'll admit the Emerald Envy was a little hard to match with other colours but I think after I see some more colour combos it will be equally as amazing.
Thanks to Lisa A for this great photo

I am participating in a swap with some fellow Canadian demonstrators and I was lucky enough to receive this one from Allison O, in my downline.  She had a "pre-preview" of some of the products due to her Artisan design team status :) I received this card in April and I love the way the new In colors look together.

Next week I'll share some other amazing cards from my demonstrator friends and maybe a sneak peek or two at some other goodies.

Cheers,
K

Swap cards - Watercolour Wings Bundle

While at Convention I participated in a large (80 card) swap with some amazing leaders in this company.  The cards I received were AH-MAZING to say the least.  I have sorted them by stamp set and share with you some different ideas you can do with one stamp set.

Samples L to R, top then bottom by Susan Miller, Phyllis Johnson, Evelyn Wood and Lynn Anderson

I love how one set, well this is a bundle with framlelits, can have so many different looks. I also like how seeing other stampers create so many different styles.  What have you done with your Watercolour Wings bundle?  I'd love to see some samples.

Cheers,
K

Getting back on the "stamping" horse . . . (long post)

Eesh, it's embarassing to say it's been over 6 weeks since my last blog post and probably equal to that since I've stamped anything fun, for me or for a class!

Why?

Some of you may know (and some of you may not know) but my husband has been out of work for about 4 months and it has taken a toll on me both personally and professionally.

Stamping was one of the furthest things from my mind but it shouldn't have been. I use stamping as therapy.  It's something I love to do, get inky, get creative and quite frankly get lost in a different world of ribbons, paper, and FUN STUFF. Instead, I cocooned, felt sorry for myself, got caught up in what I didn't have instead of remembering what I do have.

I have a hard working husband who each and every day searched and searched for a job (although they were few and far between). He stayed positive even though there were times I knew he didn't want to be.

Two amazing kids that have "gotten it" when it came to things we could and couldn't do. Something I thought I was teaching them before but now when it hit closer to home they helped out more than ever!

My family and friends, near and far who knew when it was time to text, call or just leave me alone :)  You know who you are and I am grateful.

An amazing customer base and numerous friendships so many to count! You  have been so good to me over the years and I am thankful for all you have done to support me in my business ventures. I will ALWAYS be your Stampin UP demonstrator no matter where the next turn lies and I look forward to stamping with you again VERY soon!

I have returned from the annual Stampin UP Convention full of swaps, great ideas and my bucket full from good times with friends new and old.  It was the "kick in my butt" I needed to get back on the stamping horse and back to work! I am so thankful for the wonderful relationships I have made being a demonstrator. I have this CRAZY (and I mean that truly and lovingly) group of demonstrator friends that pulled me out of my funk and inspire me to no end.

I'm excited to share with you the many ideas I learned while away but more than that just to share some time with friends doing what we love - paper crafting.

Cheers,
K

PS Oops and I forgot to mention that last week Pete accepted a job offer. YAY!!

Convention samples with Blendabilities

I am super excited for my Blendabilities "Try it" class tonight - woo hoo!

10 friends new and seasoned stampers that are coming to check it out!  I have a few samples from my own stash as well as Convention swaps so they will sure to be WOW'd!

Blendabilties are so easy to use and all you need is a little practice and you'll soon be colouring like a pro.

Here are some pics of cards using Blendabilties and some from classes I took while there as well. I will give credit when I know who has made them but if I'm sharing one of your samples please let me know so I can give you the credit it deserves!

Jill Olsen
Rose Marie Coleman

Plus I had to throw in some Holiday samples to whet your appetite.

If you love to colour or love the look that colouring images create Blendabilities may be for you.

The last week to take part in my Blendabilties marker share.  Contact me by August 1st.  All details can be seen here.

Ready . . .get set . . . go!

Home at last after an amazing Convention and a wonderful time with friends.

I want to share with you a few little "epiphanies" or "a-ha" moments I have had over the last few days/months.

1) I have made fantastic relationships since joining Stampin UP!  Customers, upline, downline and Stampin UP event friends all make my job super rewarding and fun!

2) I need to set measurable goals and work towards achieving them.  Just selling stamps and having classes doesn't get me towards my goals.  Even if I don't make the ultimate goal then there is no harm in trying for it!

3) I need to share Stampin Up MORE!  Convention reminded me how great this company is.  Our products are fantastic, the relationships I have made are beyond incredible and the inspiration and creative fulfillment when I create just one card is amazing.

They may not seem like much but going to Convention made me realize it and I want to share with you what I'm hoping to accomplish.

Last year I was able to achieve over $20,000 in sales! I almost didn't take this photo as I know I have done over $30,000 in past years (actually several times in a row).  But I'm so glad I did as my focus for last year was to achieve more balance in life and not just Stampin UP 24/7.  Thanks to all of my great customers I was able to achieve these sales while spending more time with my family.

While I still want to achieve balance as best I can I do want to reach for this one big goal. Stampin Up announced their next grand vacation and it's a doozy!

Can you believe it?  A cruise in the Mediterranean with stops in France, Italy and Spain!!

So come with me on this adventure as I try my hardest to meet new stampers, new hostesses and potential demonstrators.

Swap card from Patricia Stanard

K

The swapping has begun and here are the last ones I made.  I ended up with 60!! Yay me!  Can't wait to bring home a ton of new cards to share with you.

I'm so happy to be here in hot Salt Lake City!  Today is rehearsal day so wish me luck!  I get to sneak peek several of the presentations today, how cool is that!

Tonight there is a fun My Paper Pumpkin night out!  Check out the latest details here for MPP.  It's now easier than ever to sign up or give as a gift.

K
