During the year I have created several seasonal Framed Art pieces. The classes have been quite popular for both gifts and people making them for their homes.
The next class is on April 10th where will be creating this SPRING framed piece. Time of the class is 6-8 and there are 4 spots remaining.
BUT many people have missed out on the FAMILY and NOEL class.
Until April 2nd you can purchase a "kit to go". I will prep the NOEL and FAMILY framed pieces so you can create this piece at home. Supplies are limited and the cost is $20 without the frame.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to get a complete season of framed art.
The summer version is still to come.
Cheers,
K

Happy Birthday Nathan
Today is Nathan's 10th Birthday. I can't believe it! I have two kids in double digits!!
Here are some cute pics Pete found.
Yep, still has the crazy hair (when it's longer), super cute smile and still loves his onsie jammies!!
We are having a family celebration today and a friend party in a couple of weeks. Nathan is a Star Wars nut (Happy Potter too) but for this party he picked a Star Wars theme.
Here are the invitations I created with help from Rose Coleman's fantastic punched instructions here. I saved this card from Heather Summer's mom's card and I saw CASE all the way!
Happy Birthday buddy!
Cheers,
K

Zombie Kitty
This post is a bit off but you'll get a better chance to see what I've been up this past week.
A couple of weeks ago my friend, Jacquie was telling me about this show that she's been watching - The Walking Dead. Have you heard of it? Well, I hadn't heard of it but listening to her re-tell the plot lines and how intense the shows are peeked my curiosity. She had season one on DVD so she let me borrow it.
On Tuesday I plugged it in and got to work on my swaps. Then ACK! She was not kidding when she said the show was INTENSE!!! I was jumping around my scrapbook room, covering my eyes and watching the scenes in between fingers and even staring down at my kitties (thinking happy thoughts) hoping all the characters wouldn't die!! Just a warning if you haven't seen this show it is DEFINITELY not for the faint of heart - lots of blood or fake blood and quite gross!! BUT sooo good and addicting! I don't usually like stuff like that but I can say I'm hooked now. If anyone knows of a way to find season 2 online (the dvd is not out until July, I think) please let me know!!!!
On to the funny creative side of this post.
While I was making the Hello Kitty swaps (and watching The Walking Dead) I kept thinking how this show is warping my mind and if I wasn't careful they would end up looking like zombie kitties. So I had to make this one as a joke . . .
I wouldn't dare swap it with anyone but I thought it was pretty funny. Hey, it uses all current Stampin UP products (eyeball and mouth from the Make a Monster set). I used a black pen to make the stitches. I'm all set for Halloween!
Have a great weekend and start to Spring Break!! Yahoo!!!
PS I'm working on my newsletter and a list of new classes for April and May. Watch your email boxes this weekend.
Cheers,
K

Hello Kitty swaps
Greetings :)
This week has been wonderful. I've prepped for my upcoming classes, the weather has been great and I've been stamping what I want to stamp.
Enough babbling, on to what I've stamped. . .
I used this "me" time to stamp my swaps for my upcoming Stampin UP trip. I'm participating in a swap and share night on the Disney incentive trip so I thought I'd make some Hello Kitty cards to share. Yes, they are a little labour intensive but I only had to make 26. Even 26 seemed like a lot once I got to putting those bows on.
I told Pete I'm ready to go to Disney now - swaps are done! His response? I don't think I'll do swaps this time. What a character he is!
Tomorrow I'll share a bit of a twist to the Hello Kitty card and my latest obsession!
Cheers,
K

Downline swaps
Beginning this month (and for the next 3 months) I'm participating in a swap organized by Avery, a member of my second level downline. I received 8 envelopes of happy mail over the past two weeks! It has been unbelievable seeing the fantastic creativity of so many in my downline! It has opened my eyes up to trying a new colour combination, dig out a stamp set I haven't used in a while or seeing a punch in a whole new light. I hope these samples inspire you to create!
Cheers,
K
Can you recognize the punch used on the tulips? From the Queen of the Owl punch fan club. Love the white gel pen detail too. Created by Kim M |
I love the "fancy" way to attach the ribbon and man, NOW have to buy this stamp set. Great whimsical spring card! Created by Rachel |
Loving the clouds on this card! A definite must have stamp set - Send me Soaring. Created by Allison |

Recipes from the Card Buffet
Happy Monday morning!
I hope the weekend was good to you and you are as excited about the start of spring this week! It was a busy one here at the Burns household with a fun school performance on Friday night, hockey on Saturday (nothing new there) and Card Buffet classes Sat and Sunday. Can you believe over 180 cards were made this weekend!!! Awesome!! Lots of Angry Birds, penguins and punched flowers were created in one weekend. Thanks to all that attended the card buffet this weekend.
We had some yummy snacks so I thought I'd share some of the recipes from the weekend.
Peanut Butter Cups - I've posted this one before but it is soo popular I'll post it again.
1c peanut butter
1c margarine
1c white sugar
1c brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2c flour

The wonderful things you can do with Blossom Builders!
This is a quick post as my arm is a little messed up from volunteering at Nathan's school. Long story but let's just say I'm one finger typing this post AND it's my right arm - MY STAMPING HAND!!!
Here are the rest of the scrapbook pages from last weekend.
Wish me luck that a good night's sleep will solve the problem!
Cheers,
K

Monochromatic Mood
No I'm not depressed but I was in an orange funk when I created this card. When I was scrapbooking with a friend a couple of weeks ago I was inspired by her orange and blue beach pages. She had all these shades of orange out trying to choose her background and matting and TA DA card inspiration right there!
Greenhouse Garden is one set I haven't used in a while but one that I love. The colours I used were Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral and Peach Parfait.
Hope you enjoy this touch of spring! If you have suggestions for other monochromatic colour combos leave me a comment!
Enjoy the weekend!

K

Thanks for the great response to my Angry Birds stuff
It was great to hear from many of you that you enjoyed my Angry Birds box (or one that I CASED from someone in blogosphere) I even had some feedback that I should have an Angry Birds class. Hmm . . . something to think about.
I'm still working on scanning those directions to make the birds but here are the punches and supplies I used to make the box.
Have a great day!
Cheers,
K
I'm still working on scanning those directions to make the birds but here are the punches and supplies I used to make the box.
Paper - Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White and Basic Black
Dies - Fancy Favor box
Punches - 2 1/2 circle (Whisper White), 1" circle (Whisper White), 1/2" circle (Basic Black), 3/4" square (Daffodil Delight - cut on
my paper trimmer), small strips of Basic Black cut by hand, 5 petal
flower punch (Real Red)
Other - Hemp Twine and Sticky Strip
How to add the handles:
1) Die cut one Fancy Favor box in Real Red.
2) Add the Angry birds punched pieces to one side of the box. Add the 5 petal flower punch to the opposite box side.
2) Cut 2 strips 1/2 x 2 1/2" of Real Red and apply sticky strip to these pieces.
3) Place the hemp Twine onto the sticky strip to form the handle and then take this entire piece and attach to the box.
I'm going to have to work on an Angry Birds family!
Have a great day!

This is the BEST Kids Camp EVER!!!!
This is what was said during my Kids Camp this past weekend - quite a bit!
The Angry Birds theme has been quite popular in my crafting room. Lots of little punched bits flying about and here is what I made. Of course I CANNOT find the source where I CASED this fantastic box so if this creation is yours please email me.
I originally planned to do this craft with just my Club Create (7-9 year olds) but since the Paper Crafter's girls were extremely envious of them we'll be doing it next month at your class.
We also made these mini Angry Birds cards.
I'm working on getting a recipe sheet on how to make these so watch for that in an upcoming post.
Thanks for stopping by.
Cheers,
K

Hello Kitty
I hope you had a great weekend with your family. That sunny weather was FANTASTIC!!
This weekend was Kids camp weekend again and those always are busy and go by much too quickly.
My card today was inspired by my friend Angela. She wanted to create a Hello Kitty card for her daughter and when she showed me her punched creation I had to CASE it. Now, as a mom of boys there isn't too much Hello Kitty merchandise hanging around my house (like, none) so I had to check online to get a close up of what her clothes looked like, her arms and especially her legs.
