Back to Christmas Cards

It is so much fun being part of a swap - especially a Christmas one!

Avery's card had many oooo's and ahhh's.  What a creative use of the Six Sided Sampler.

I love Evonne's super sweet Santa suit.

Dionne's antique Christmas Collectibles is classic but complicated too with that technique thrown in there!

The unique ribbon technique on the side of the card is awesome!  Thanks Amanda!

And I made this simply coloured Color Me Christmas card.

 This will be my last post so I can enjoy the Christmas break thoroughly!!  I may have some surprise posts if I get a sec during the holidays but be sure to check back on Wed, January 1st because I have THE most awesome January WOW class to share!

Winter Frost Scrapbook page

Today and tomorrow are my last club / class days for 2013 :)   I'm excited for the break but also excited to share this page.

Yesterday was a fantastic day to take some snow pictures but if you live in Calgary you know we'll have many more opportunities to take pics of toboganning, skiiing, and making snowmen.

I'm back with more Christmas cards :)

Sorry for the lack of post yesterday.  I had an appt and it kinda took me out of commission for a bit but I'm back!

We are almost finished our Christmas letter (really it should NOT take me this long) but it does so my goal is to have these Christmas cards into the mail box by this evening.  Plus a ton of wrapping to do while the kids are in school.  On the weekend I showed Nathan how to wrap presents, put the ribbons and bows on and he did an outstanding job.  I think I may have to hire him out next year!

The one great thing I have enjoyed about my Christmas cards is this year I have about 15 different styles to choose from.  When I prepped for my Christmas card club I just cut a few extra sets for me.  Here are some other great Christmas swap samples.

Snowflake Soiree is beautiful paired with the Hearts a Flutter framelits.  Great card Rachel!

Amanda made this watercolour masterpiece pairs well with the Ornament Keepsakes set.

I love the Expressions thinlits!  And what a great idea to use a leaf stamp like this.  Very cool Evonne!

Stippled Blossoms made my wish list after I saw this card by Carolynn.

What a weekend!

It's almost Christmas, my shopping is almost complete (still have wrapping to do) and it was a full weekend of hockey playoffs :)  Can't get any better than that!

Ok, having my Christmas cards complete and sent might be a good thing but first things first.

Here is some more inspiration for those of you are procrastinators like me!

Rachel B created this lovely "poinsettia" card with the Mosaic set and punch.

I {heart} the Joyful Christmas set and just love the way Heather paired it with the burlap ribbon.

Tova's creation Joyful Christmas and Washi tape is gorgeous as well.

Dec Cardmaker's Projects

What perfect projects for the chilly weather we've been having.  

My Cardmaker's meeting is this week and it's all about snowy projects.

 First we have a diorama type card with a peek a boo snowman inside.

 Then a shaker card with what I think it my favourite "Best of " stamp set -  Best of Snow.

And then a snowy ornament with the Festive Flurry ornament kit from Stampin UP!  These are so easy to assemble.

Festive Flurry Wreath

I'm super excited to have my Ornamental Elegance class today!  One because I'll be seeing some ladies I haven't seen in a while plus many friends that come to classes often and two) I get to show off my new wreath!

Once I saw this wreath created with the Festive Flurries Ornament kit and had to re-create one myself. 

 I used the backing paper we received from our Designer Series paper packages and traced a dinner plate for the base and then a smaller salad plate for the inside.  I used the ribbon in the kit for the hanger and then picked up some sparkly ribbon to make the bow.

Christmas Swap cards

I am soo very lucky to have such passionate and talented downline :)

A few months ago we had a demonstrator group swap (sharing cards we created) with the new stamp sets from the Holiday catalogue.  Each participant made 11 of the same full cards and we "swapped" samples and now we each have 11 different cards.  I made two groups and coincidentally everyone signed up to be in both groups.  Over the next few weeks I'll be sharing the lovely samples made by them.

Cardmaker's Club projects

Hi all

Jut a quick post as today is Christmas shopping day!   The plan is in place, the list written and the wallet is ready! 

A few weeks ago I had our monthly Cardmaker's meeting and made the new envelope punch board the focal tool of our meeting.  

File folder cards are all the rage and I CASED this fantastic card from Patty Bennett.   

Next we made this cool Christmas Cracker.  Martha Inchely has a fantastic video on how to make these with the envelope punch board here. 

Plus our monthly technique. They saw a card created by my downline, Kari so I had to re-create her card as I didn't have the same set as her.  Everyone loved the double embossing with black and irridescent ice powders.
