Back to school with Washi!

Weird title, don't you think?

This past weekend Nathan had a homework assignment to cover his text books.  Those babies are pretty expensive and we had to sign our name in blood they would be cared for.  I remember using brown paper bags to cover my university text books (yes, nerdy I know) but then I could always get tons of money back when I re-sold them.

Here's how you do it.
1) You will need  brown paper bag, scissors and tape - scotch and washi too.

 2) Cut off the bottom of the paper bag so it lays flat.

3) Fold the ends of the paper bag to match the height of the book you want to cover.

4)  Fold the ends of the paper bag to match the size of the book and tuck the cover into the "pocket" you create with the folds.

5) Add tape along the edges to secure the book cover.

6) Now for the best part - DECORATE with WASHI TAPE!!!  Lots of my tape is from Stampin UP but my niece sent me some from Japan too.

7) Or even stamps!!  Nathan used my World Map stamp for his Humanities or Social Studies text book.

Now go to it! Start covering those text books now!

Friday night Scrapbooking

There is NO better way than to spend an evening scrapbooking with friends!

We had our second sb'n club meeting on Friday.  Here is a peek at our fun and crazy night!  NOTE the messy tables!  That must mean creative juices were flowing.  Two of our members were missing in action this month but we are looking forward to a full house in November where we will be creating a Christmas page complete with heat embossing, diecutting, punching, stamping and more!

Michele made this fantastic page with the Playdate paper and Accents.  I LOVE the orange and green combo and it goes perfectly with the colours in her photos.

Tomorrow I'll post a birthday page from our club!

Have a great Sunday!

Back to school

Yesterday was the first day of school for my crew and the rest of Calgary.  The kids were very excited and so was I :)

Pete and I split the duties and drove the kids off in different directions to their respective schools. The kids were super excited to see friends and meet their teachers. We were nervous to see which class they were in and with whom.  All is GREAT!  Better than great!  I can't wait for a fantastic year from both of them.

On the stamping front (hold on to your seat) I TOOK A DAY OFF!  Notice I said day and not night so I'm off to stamp but here are some pics of the monkeys on day 1 of school.

Cheers,
K

See the missing teeth on Nathan!

Every year I always get a photo of them holding up what grade they are going in to.
