#imbringingbirthdaysback

There is a birthday movement happening and you'll want to jump on board!

Shannon West, an amazing home office trainer has decided to tackle the decline of sending birthday cards.  We are all guilty of just giving a facebook shout out or text on someone's birthday but when is the last time you mailed a birthday card? Or received one?

Check out this segment on Good Things Utah.

I'm organizing myself by using this awesome perpetual calendar.

When is your birthday? Leave me a comment and I'll add you to my birthday card list :)

Cheers,
 K

It's my Party Scapbooking!

Last weekend we had our monthly Scrapbooker's meeting and we created a fun page with the It's my Party paper!

I'm loving the colours and variety of patterns in this paper pack!

The accessories that co-ordinate with this paper is awesome too! So awesome that some of them are taking a bit longer to arrive but trust me they are WORTH THE WAIT! Washi tape, black baker's twine and enamel dots - woo hoo!

K

It's club week!

Well, an extended break from clubs and classes is over so it's time to get to work.

I didn't mean to take such a LOOONG break off from blogging but I lost track of those days off with the kids home. You know what it's like. A movie here, ice skating there and even some clothes shopping too.

I love this party suite of products! Such great colours and combinations I wouldn't normally put together.

I think this is my favourite saying EVER!

Plus our technique this week is another fancy fold. This one is a fun slider card!

You've Got This card - Quick and easy

What a beautiful day it was in Calgary! And now it's time to break out the flower stamps! Pete noticed our grass is starting to green up too.  Uh oh! We know there is more snow to come . . . it's inevitable.

Sadly, I am in need of some sympathy cards so I grabbed the stamp set You've Got This and knew I could make a couple quickly.

A quick and simple but pretty card. If you are in a pinch you can create a small stack of cards with just a few supplies and in a few minutes.

Traditional page meets Project Life Cards

Another scrapbook page to share!

I realized I have quite a few photos from our last Disney trip in 2013. Scrapbooking this page was fun and time consuming. Why? I had to go through all the photos to see how little the kids were when I was looking through pics!

Time goes by so quick so I have to get those photos off of the computer and into my scrapbooks!

This is one of favourite photos since it captured the fun we had at Typhoon Lagoon and how excited we were to eat this sundae! It was called a garbage pail sundae and YUM was it ever good.  Notice how I didn't share the photo of me chowing down on the ice cream.  Those will be left OUT of the scrapbook :)

I wasn't able to find the perfect paper to go with my photo so I used the ice cream cone from the Sale A Bration stamp set Honeycomb Happiness and Gorgeous Grunge to make the background paper. My colour scheme was Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Watermelon Wonder plus I added some journaling cards from the Project Life set This is the Life.

K

Tubin' at Norquay

Here's another page from the weekend. I'm going to do a Project Life layout on  the adjacent page with all photos we took from that day tubing at Norquay and skiing at Sunshine.

I love using the vellum, something I wouldn't normally do as an overlay over the Night of Navy cardstock.

Many of these products are retired Stampin Up goodies but they could easily be adapted with current products or ones from your stash.  The best part of this workshop was using up the prodcuts I have been hoarding . . . or collecting :)  You know you are doing the same thing! Get those products out and stamp or scrapbook today!

K

Weekly Deals - Feb 2 - 8 - Decorative Label Tutorial

Wahoo, one of my favourite punches is on sale this week! The Decorative Label punch is used a ton in my stamp room.

Check out this photo tutorial how to layer this image with just one punch.

Stamp and punch out your sentiment or image to be framed plus 2  extra Decorative Labels in your mat colour.

Cut the extra Decorative Label mat pieces in half - vertical and horizontal.
Trim the mat pieces according to the photo.
Apply adhesive to the back and secure the longer pieces to the back showing an outline around the sentiment.
Repat using the end pieces. I used Cucumber Crush card stock so you can see where this piece is placed.
Voila! You can barely see it but the mat around the Decorative Label piece is pieced together.
Hope you enjoyed the pics!

Cheers,
K

Today is . . .

not Monday? I lost a day. The kids had the day off school so I apparently took the day off too :)

My weekend was fabulous for a few of reasons 1) Scrapbooking on Saturday meant an entire crafting day and no cooking 2) Pete had the last 4 days off so I had help at home with laundry and cooking (and nursing Andrew) and 3) Andrew's surgery on Friday was great (with exception to the 2 hours after he got home and was starving and a bear) it has been great.  He looks like a little chipmunk but handling all the icing, pain meds and mouth rinsing like a pro.  Phew, glad the worst is over.

Now onto my wonderful scrapbook adventure on Saturday.  I went with my two friends Michele and Jackie to a crop in SE Calgary. It was a lot of work, I won't lie, but I got my scrapbooking mojo back!

This week I'll share some of my pages.  Here is a one page layout I made to go along with one from my club layouts.

Oh I wish I could go back!

This page was pretty easy to assemble with the Project Life Happiness Is cards. Go check out the many Project Life products on the clearance rack! I love how I can combine the cards with a traditional 12x12 scrapbook page.

Here is the layout from my scrapbook club from November 2015.

This was a trip I earned through Stampin UP last year and I took my sister. Pete just got a new job and couldn't take time off so it was a great girls trip!

K
