October Kids Stamp Camp

Tomorrow I will start a busy weekend of Kids Stamp Camp, Stamp a Stack, Paper Crafter's Workshop AND a Downline Snack and Share - so am I the only one that thinks this is this NUTS!

I think I'm going to be needing a LOT of sugar to get me through the weekend.  Thus the theme for this month's Kids Camp projects.

I love this candy "bag" that can double as a pencil/office supply holder. We'll fill it with treats too!

This chocolate bar holder will be made with my Club Create girls.  Thanks Allison Okamitsu and Mary Fish for this great idea!

And this year each group has asked to learn some new techniques so we'll be creating at least 2 techniques each month and they will each get an instruction sheet to they can re-create these at home.

My older group, Teen Crafter's Workshop is going to start a bigger project but it's not finished yet so I'll wait to show you that another time.

DO NOT forgot to check back tomorrow to see October's WOW class. The theme is Funky Folds Christmas Cards.  Class max is 9 and it's the first 9 people to sign up.

Cheers,
K

These are about as far away from Christmas as you can get.  I hope they inspire you.

Sorry I don't know who made these cards but aren't the purdy!

Thank you to all my Stamp a Stack ladies

A HUGE thank you to all the ladies that came on the hottest day EVER to come and stamp CHRISTMAS CARDS!  Can you believe it???  I loved seeing all of you go home with a fully stacked baggie of handmade Christmas cards.  Now the challenge will be to get them addressed ready to mail by Dec 1st (that's what I always end up procrastinating about.)Well, that and the making the cards part.

Here is the recipe for the "Yummies" we had today.  Thank you to my best friend Tammy for sharing this with me many years ago.  It's a staple at Christmas time in our house and for gifts!

4c white chocolate wafers
5 c Golden Graham cereal
1c salted peanuts
1c raisins

Melt the white chocolate wafers in a double boiler. Combine cereal, peanuts and raisins in a large bowl.  Pour chocolate over dry mixture and mix well.  Spread onto wax lined cookie sheet or cooling rack and cool.  When the mixture has dried break apart into small pieces.  I haven't tried freezing it because it never stays in my house that long.

Thanks again and have a good night!

Cheers,
K

Running with scissors!!!

ACK!  So much to do and so little time!  Who's bright idea was this to sign up for a craft fair - oh right, mine.

I'm just a little nuts right now but that's because I keep coming up with new things to create for the craft fair!  And now my sister had a great idea to create stockings to put along my table edge so now I'm makin' some stockings! Luckily with this new stocking die it is super easy.

What was I up to today?

I was making some Snowman Kisses.

And some nugget tins.
If you haven't seen these before they hold one dozen Hershey's Nugget chocolates perfectly.

I ordered these tins online and these chocolates are well traveled chocolates.  They are from Salt Lake City :).   I have found nugget chocolates in the bulk section at Safeway but NO WHERE ELSE in South Calgary.  If you see them anywhere else in Calgary, please let me know.  My fingers are crossed that they will have them during the Christmas season.

Off to die cut stockings.  I'll take some pictures of them and post them for tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers,

PS In response to which fair I was in and who doesn't include that!  Here are the details.  I'm blaming lack of sleep :)

A hockey side note and a little cry

Many of you know I'm a BIG Canucks fan and last night Pete and Nathan went to the Flames and Canucks first preseason game. He told about this video they showed to pay tribute to the hockey players that passed away this summer. Well, I found it and had a little cry this morning.

Even if you aren't a hockey fan I'm sure you can just imagine what the impact and the loss of these young men will have on their families and friends.  Like it says in the video - they were husbands and fathers, sons and brothers . . . they were teammates and friends.

Rest in peace.

Some swaps from Edmonton

After going through my baggie of swaps I'm in awe of the awesomeness of each card.  A new technique, new colour combination or a new stamp set is shown on each card, that's why I love to swap!

Here are a few random cards from my swap stash. Unfortunately there aren't any names on these great cards.  If it is yours please let me know.

I love the Vintage feel of this card.  A style I struggle to duplicate.
by Shelia Paul  I love the colours in this fall card.
Just a great collage style card!  One I'm going to try as I just bought this stamp set.
Here are the two make n' takes we did at the event.  I learned different ways to use the distressing kit and I LOVE the fancy envelopes.

K

Edmonton Regionals!

This weekend I attended the Edmonton Regionals with some of my team.  We had a blast while we were there and I received a ton of great swaps!  Over the next couple of days I'll be posting some of these fantastic cards.

Late last week I wanted to but didn't have any time to create more swap cards but my sister offered to help and assisted me in diecutting up a storm. I finished 30 more cards.  Here's what it looked like.

It's been a busy Sunday with my Stampin Up garage sale and a family BBQ so off to bed am I.

Have a great Monday!

Cardmaker's Club projects

This week we had our first meeting of my Cardmaker's Club.

I chose to do some fall themed projects with the Gently Falling Stamp set and Spice Cake Designer Series Paper.  Can you tell I love this line!?!?

Here's a fun fold card directions and inspired by Dawn Griffth

Gently Falling is a lovely two step stamping set.

We create a technique page each month plus card front to keep for reference.

And a small mini matchbox for a place holder or treat box.
We had a great time getting together and I look forward to our next meeting where we will tackle some Christmas!

Cheers,
K

Stampin Up Garage sale sneak peek

Less than a week until my Stampin UP Garage sale.  While my last rubber rummage sale went VERY well I still have many sets that I must part with.  I can't continue to have 2 boxes of stamp sets untouched and many unmounted.  I have priced all stamp sets at a MINIMUM 40% off the catalogue price and a handful of unmounted sets are priced at 60% off.  Here's a sneak peek at some of my favourite sets in the sale.

This unmounted set can be used with the clear blocks and contains many different images for various occasions.

I LOVE this set.  Look at all the fabulous sayings in this set.  These work great punched out in a circle or square and added to a card.

I {heart} this butterfly.  Works well with poppin pastels, multi coloured ink pad and cut out - many other techniques!

Great set for kids and watercolouring!  Lots of different images for many different occasions.

Love my Cheep Talk!

A few different Christmas sets left.

A great set for wedding, thank you and anniversary cards.

Even brand new unmounted sets!

I hope you get a chance to stop by on Sunday, Sept 18th 1-4pm.   Contact me for the address, but I will not hold sets or answer questions on specific sets.  Come check it out.

Cheers,
K
