A little Beau Chateau

Another amazing display of products by Stampin UP!

I can't believe how good Stampin UP is at wanting me to buy EVERYTHING!  Vintage is just one style that I struggle with us but I'm excited about using these products and trying my hand at vintage.

Best (and cutest) Convention swap ever!

This post is a little bit of bragging (and a little long) but I HAVE to share with you the cutest swap I have EVER and will ever receive.

During the Alaska cruise my table mates and I were lucky enough to have Lynne Ward from Stampin Up's Board of Directors join us for dinner.  We chatted about her appointment to the board, her experience with stamping and her experiences on the cruise.  She also asked us about our experience with Stampin UP, how much time we dedicate to Stampin (I told her 40+ hours easily) and what can Stampin UP do for us as demonstrators.

Lynne, me and Debra Washburn - both board members

Here is a photo of us later on in the cruise.  Lynne said she was going to be at Convention and would "try" to create something to swap so I told her that I would be making a swaps and I would save one for her.

Fast forward to Convention and to my word I went looking for her during the Opening General session.  I found Lynne and we chatted for a short while and I told her I had a swap for her.  She said that she was glad I went looking for her and she said she had something for me - I was on her list.   She gets a bag from under her chair and she told me to peek in the bag and not let too many other ladies see.  I reach in a grab one of these.

Isn't he the cutest bear ever made from the Candy Cane fabric.  He has bitty buttons on his tummy, brads for his eyes and a seam binding ribbon tie.  When I brought this bear to show my roomies, Robin said she saw something like this on Shelli's blog.  Here is the original post.

GASP!  I got one of THE BEARS!!  Now I'm really over the moon with this treat.  I went back again on the last day of Convention to thank Lynne again for this sweet treat but sadly I couldn't find her. But I did see Debra (the other board member in the photo) and chatted with her for a bit.

Here are the directions for the bears from Shelli's blog.

Several more of these bears were on display.  They are so sweet in ANY fabric.

Thanks for letting me share my special swap.

Convention Awards night!

As I go through all my pictures from Convention I remember all the highlights I have yet to share with you.

On the Thursday evening of Convention Stampin Up celebrates the Annual Awards with the top demonstrators in Canada and the US in Sales, Recruiting and Leadership.  No, I'm not anywhere being close to the demonstrators that earn these accolades but one can always dream and work towards it, right?

The highlight for me was being able to walk across the stage and be celebrated for earning the Disney Incentive Trip.  Here are Kim and I in our moment in the spotlight!

After the awards night where my HERO Heather Summers, just rocked the Canadian Awards we partied in the ballroom until late - okay, my kinda late which was like 11:00!  Heather is my MDS guru so if you have this software I'm sure you've heard me rave about her.

Kim loving her dessert!

Allison and I

Anne Granger, totally cool demo from Ontario.  We met on the cruise to Alaska!

Ann Clemmer, THE ANN from stamperdog.com  She is my Bingo Buddy from the cruise.

Yummy cupcakes for us!

And what happens when you put chocolate in front of 100's of demos

Robin and April (my roommates) having a blast on the dance floor.

YMCA!

Three more awesome demos from Ontario - Marjaliese, Tracey and Sundee.  They stayed at the same hotel as us.  We should just make it the Canadian hotel for Convention every year!

It was a fun night and a new addition to Convention.  I hope they do it every year!

Convention swaps!

I realized there are so many Convention pictures I haven't shown you yet but one of the best things about Convention are all the great swaps!

Here are a few of the swaps I received on day 1.

Toadally cute punch creation by Lea Christensen

Another by Lea.  LOVE the Concord Crush and Wisteria colour combo.

Lynn Pratt's unique punch creations are always awe inspiring.

Lovin' the layers!  Sorry I didn't get a name on this one.  If it is yours I LOVE it!

Thanks to the creator -Just clean and crisp, just beautiful.
I'll post more photos from Convention tomorrow and hope to show you some Christmas Card Buffet cards soon.  This summer stuff is just getting in the way of card creating!

U R sweet

I thought I'd show you are card I initially created for swaps at Convention but ended up on the chopping block.  I love the card but after die cutting the letters, attaching them to chip board and then wrapping faux candies it was a dud for a swap due to the amount of time it would take me to mass produce.

But isn't is sweet??

I have to show you one of my favourite swap cards from Convention.  I think this one is TOO sweet.  So much so that I chased down the creator of this card to swap with her (and I'm totally not kidding).  Thanks Jan Shaw for an awesome card!

Have a great Monday!

Hi to my new stamping friends

Just a quick Sunday post to say "Hi" to all my new stamping/scrapbooking friends I met at yesterday's garage sale.

I'm happy to say we have toys/games and scrapbooking stuff than I had on Friday :)  and that makes Pete VERY happy.

And now I have room to store more stamps :)  See two happy adults - all is good.

I'm inviting all new crafters to attend a Beginner's Stamping class on Tuesday, August 9th.  Please RSVP by August 5th and you can attend either the day or evening class.  Come check out what the "craze" is all about!
