I'm STILL a Stampin UP Demonstrator!

Yes, I'm still here and yes, I'm still a Stampin UP demonstrator!!

The past many months have been full of twists and turns, ups and downs and I owe a great deal of thanks to everyone who has reached out and supported me through everything. I do not know where I would be without my family and friends.

In September, I started a full time job, sent Andrew off to UVic and got Nathan settled into high school. It was a BUSY time and while my plans were to start classes and clubs in October, I needed to get life sorted out before I jumped right back into things.

Now that it’s the end of November (WOW) and Christmas is around the corner my new goal is to get back into Stampin UP in the new year. I plan to hold a Coffee, Cookies and Cards class in January as well as start my clubs again, as I miss you guys dearly.

Thanks for your patience and please know you can always shop online or just contact me at kristine.burns@shaw.ca for all your stamping related questions.  I'm still placing orders and so if you are in need of snail, paper or just have to have some of those amazing new stamp sets just give me a call!

More High Tide samples

Happy Monday!

Hope you had a great weekend despite the lack of sleep yesterday. Daylight Savings isn't quite as much fun in the spring.

Just a few more amazing samples using High Tide.
This beautiful card by Ellie Blake used the Seaside embossing folder in the background.  Just lovely.

As well, Gen Ko used the same embossing folder but this card has a different look when you use a different coloured ink for the light house.  Love how she tied in the By the Shore Designer Series paper too.

And this last card I love the flock of birds flying overhead.  Mo Dickie created this beauty.
Thanks for checking in with me. Cardmaking club is this week so it should be a busy one!

Happy Stamping!
Cheers,
K

More High Tide samples

More samples of High Tide to share with you.  I just love these set samplers as I can show you multiple ways to use the same set!

This one was so amazing as there isn't a light house in sight! Jenn Tinline created this peaceful card with just the birds.

Nancy Gauthier made this beautiful card using just the white embossing powder.  I also loved getting a sample with French text. I actually received quite a few of these.

Kay Smith's card had a lovely embossed background too. Check out the details in the sentiment as well with the sunshine background. Simply lovely.

I will share the last of my High Tide samples next week.  Until then have a fantastic weekend.

Cheers,
K

High Tide Set Sampler

High Ride is one of my favourite sets from the Occasions catalogue. This set  surprised me as one of my go to sets and when I received the samples of this set sampler at the Conference in January I knew it was going to be super popular with my customers as well!

This card by Lynsay Mohan has everyone stop for a second. Why? How did she do the background? The paper pack from Serene Scenery makes this card easily duplicatable and quick!

I like the way Alison Solven used the Designer Series Paper to "ground" the lighthouse and give it a pop of colour.

And Kim Stathakos used a great tone on tone technique - Bermuda Bay paper, ink and cardstock to make the focal image pop.

Hope you have a great Wednesday and enjoy the day despite the cold temps in Calgary!

Cheers,
K

Thank you!

Thank you to all who attended the Retired Stamp sale this past weekend!

It was an incredible success as many people left happy with their new purchases and I left happy with many empty boxes and much less to return to my basement.

It was very busy at the opening!

One of the hot items were those framelits and ink pads!

The calm before the line ups began. This amazing team processed everyone through the line! And believe me there was a line!

A selection of upcoming classes and stacks of retired catalogues to give away. Lots of great ideas still in those catties.

I had many ask if I do this sale every year.  My response - if I had this much stuff every year then I'd be in trouble!  I still have 4 boxes of stamps leftover and with the new catalogue in June coming I'm sure many more in my stash will retire. Soo...I'm sure there will be a sale in the future.

Off to create and catch up on work that I put aside to get ready for this sale.

Thanks for checking in and watch for some amazing cards on Wed featuring the stamp set High Tide!

Cheers,
K

Stay warm this week

Stamping at the Calgary office

This week I had the opportunity to stamp at the Calgary Stampin UP office.  Each month the office sends out handmade anniversary cards and welcome cards to the new recruits.  After creating over 650 cards in three days I will NEVER complain about having to cut for 20 customers!  NEVER!

I was such a thrilling experience to design and create these cards for fellow demonstrators.  I can't share the design with you as it's secret until demonstrators receive them this month but I can share with you this little facebook video I did today.

I made this at the end of our third day of creating so we are mostly stuffing and addressing the cards but each card is handmade and personally signed by Dale, the Stampin UP Canada manager.

Such an awesome experience to be a part of this amazing company!

Happy long weekend!

Cheers,
K

Lift me up Scrapbook page

I ended last week with my Scrapbook club and we created this.

I love this club as everyone takes the page layout and makes it there own. I didn't take pics of everyone's layout but there were layouts with Maui photos as well as hiking pics.

Are you interested in scrapbooking? Our next club is on March 10th and if you are free I'd love to have you join us to try it out!

Here are some previous club layouts.

Contact me if you are interested.

Cheers,

Lift me Up - Set sampler part 4

Here are the last two Lift Me Up samples. Have I convinced you it's a MUST get set? Hee hee.

This sample by Kim Stathakos showcases the Seaside embossing folder as well as the stamp set.  And such a cute idea using the negative space for the clouds.

And here is one from Lisa Henderson. Love those cute little clouds to make the pattern background.

Which has been your favourite Lift me Up sample?

On Friday I'll share the latest Coffee, Cookies and Cards samples!

K

Lift me Up - Cardmaker's club

My card buffet was hopping busy and so much fun!  If you missed out, that's sad :( But you'll have to make a plan to come to the next one in the spring.

This week is club and I'll be showcasing the Lift me Up stamp set.

This card I CASED Jenn Tinline's collage idea and created this one using the Carried Away Designer Series paper.

During Sale-A-Bration earn this paper pack FREE with every $60 order

The second card features the amazing framelits and a masking technique using sponges

I'm super excited to stamp with my ladies this week! Two more samples to share on Wednesday.

Cheers,
K

Lift Me Up part 3

Here are two more Life Me UP cards from my set sampler.

I love the way Laurie LaRose used the Writing Notes background stamp for this "Just a note ... " card.

And this card from Lorna Raczynski is 3D! How cool is that and the vellum clouds are super unique!

I'm convincing you fall in love with set aren't I :)

Have a great weekend and check back on Monday for my club cards using this great set!

 Cheers,
K

Lift Me Up samples part 2

One great thing I love about this set is the fact you can purchase the bundle and get the stamps and co-ordinating framelits with it for a 10% savings!

And during Sale-A-Bration with any purchase over $60 you can receive this Carried Away paper pack for FREE.

This card by Ellie Blake is a fancy fold and highlights the Carried Away Designer Series paper.

A collage sample from Jenn Tinline featuring the stamp set and Designer Series paper is so cute.

And Leena Girsa's card is adorable and also combines all these elements plus the ovals framelits. I love the way she used the cloud framelit for the sentiment too.

Hope you are inspired to lift someone's spirits today!

Cheers,
K

Life me Up inspiration

Here is a little "lift me up" inspiration for a Monday morning.

Here is the cover of my set sampler for Lift Me up.

 What is a set sampler?
It's a collection of cards from 10 different demonstrators from across Canada all featuring one stamp set.

Over the next few months I'll be featuring many of these cards as they are simply amazing! If you attend one of my classes be sure to check out these booklets in person.

Here is my card sample I created for the swap. I used a sponging technique plus a scallop circle punch to create the clouds.

I love how this card from Mary Louise Hamill is a completely different colour combo and uses the same stamp set.  I believe she used a watercolour technique and some type of glossy paper or window sheet to create this awesome shiny effect.

Check back to see more Lift me UP samples on Wednesday!

Cheers,
K
