Card Buffet part 3

More cards to share!

I love this card map.  Want to know the secret reason?  It's easy to cut and prep for.  I know that's the cheater reason.  The Summer Starfruit piece is 2 3/4 x 4 and you can get 8 pieces of card stock from one piece of paper :)  Then the Whisper White piece is 2 1/2 x 3 3/4 - 8 pieces as well.  My kinda card - not many scraps left over.  You can add many different things to embellish the corner such as buttons, brads, ribbons, sentiments or punched pieces.

I hope to make a few of these at the buffet because I often get requests for graduation cards.  Now I can make some in advance and have them on hand.    Don't need a graduation card, change the sentiment to Congrats, Bon voyage or Happy Birthday.  You can' t see in the photo but for the colourful stars card I actually punched out the black cardstock and then put different colours of paper behind the star holes.

Oh it's soo hard to not have at least one card with a flower on it!  Two more of my favourite stamp sets - French Foilage - wood 120845 or clear 121166 and Field Flowers wood 122760 or clear 122762.  Great for a wedding, anniversary or birthday card.  This one also works for a thinking of you card too.

Which one is your favourite?  Leave me a comment as to which one is your favourite.

Check back tomorrow to see the projects for the Feb WOW class.  Registration starts tomorrow.

Cheers,
K

Card Buffet samples part 2

More card designs - YAY!  I'm just so excited that I have something to share with you that I actually stamped.  That means I have had time to stamp!

You may have noticed that there are two cards with each design.  That's because I'm going to be prepping two colour choices for each card design.  There will 7 designs (or 7 baskets) and 2 cards in each to choose from.

This is a simple but bright card and good for both male and female birthdays. I absolutely {heart} the Basic label single stamp clear - 132669.  So cute and works with the Apothecary Accents framelits.

Another fun card for those who like to colour with a blender pen.  You can choose any stamp from the For the Birds stamp set wood - 126405 or clear - 126407.   All the sayings and images are different so you could actually make 8 different cards with just this one design.

Still more cards so I'll "see" you tomorrow.

Cheers,
K

Card Buffet samples

What a productive Monday at my house yesterday!  Woo hoooo!!

My plan was to complete half of the cards for the buffet but I ended up doing ALL of them.  I love it when those creative juices are flowing.  When that happens you MUST just keep on stamping.

So without further ado I present my first two card buffet cards :)

I CASED these from the catalogue with a "thinking of you" or "sympathy" theme in mind.  This flower is one of my favourite images in the WHOLE catalogue.  The set is called Blooming with Kindness wood - 126420 or clear - 126442.

I'm guessing I don't need to tell you this theme. I paired the Baby Prints set wood - 125470 or clear - 125472 with a new sentiment set in the Spring Catalogue called Cuddles and Kisses wood - 127312 or clear 127314.  I think these would make great baby announcements too and they are easy enough to mass produce!

I'll share two more designs tomorrow so please check back in with me.

Cheers,
K

Best of Birthdays

Sorry for not posting yesterday.  You see there was this extra tense hockey game on and I could NOT stop watching it to type my blog post.  :)  Yep, I'm a hockey nut!

It was all great in the end as my team won (sorry Calgary fans) but boy was it close.  Shoot outs are ridiculously stressful.  I'm hoping future games aren't as tense.

On to my card for today.

I love new stamps and this set I received on Monday.  I can't wait to make tons of birthday cards with this collector set.  Super simple card but I love these Incolours together - Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse and Raspberry Ripple.

This one is super simple too but has a peek a boo window made with the extra large oval punch.  The paper is from the Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series paper pack.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Thanks for stopping by.

K

Kids Camp projects

Morning!

How was your weekend?  It was a busy weekend for us with the start of another ball hockey season, Scrapbook club, Kids camp yesterday AND of course the start of NHL hockey (so excited, but not entirely after the Canucks played horribly the first game).  And not to mention the start of Science Fair crazies :)  I'm sure I'll be posting lots about the madness that comes with the Science fair.

Any how on to the great creations from my kids camp class.

I showed them this bookmark.

And then they created these.

Afterwards I let them create their own bookmark with a variety of stamps, markers and paper.

We also made some interactive cards with some retired stamp sets I still have.  I knew they would love the spinner card but the maze one was a hit as well.

Thanks for stopping by.

Artisan Embellishment kit samples from Leadership

Here are just a few great samples the many creative people at Stampin Up have created.  I WISH I could create items as cool as these, but I struggle with the "vintage" style.  Hmmm, maybe that should be my challenge for 2013.

What do you think?  What's your style?

Artisan Embellishment Kit - 129328   11.95
Look at what you can create (with a few extra goodies added)!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend watching hockey :)

Dude, You're Welcome

At Leadership, Sara (Shelli's daughter) announced a new kit!  Trust me when I say this there was so much laughter in the crowd when it was announced.  We were all in stitches.

This is a kit designed by a special team from SU made up of mostly guys FOR guys.  Check out this blog post from Stampin Up for the full details.

Here are the contents. 132807 $30.95
I am TOTALLY getting this as I have 3 Dudes in my family or one and 2 Dudes to be :)

Check out some of the "guy" cards Sara made.  She used the stamps from this kit but added a bit of colour and some embellishment.  Please excuse the quality on some of these photos but it's hard to take them then they are flashed up there on the projection screen.

Contact me if you have a "Dude" in your life that would appreciate this or if you would appreciate getting some handmade cards from them.

Cheers,
K

Disney Trip 2013

Greetings from Orlando and apologies too!  I can honestly say there has not been a second to blog since I arrived in Orlando.

Since Allison and I arrived last Saturday we have hit the ground RUNNING taking in everything at the Disney parks.  Since I have some Disney World experience (wink, wink) I wanted to show Allison and do everything as humanly possible.  We can say we have done it all, or mostly everything.

Just arriving at Animal Kingdom.  That's the Tree of Life in the background.  AND yes it was cold that day.  Not Calgary cold but Florida cool.
I have a few more trip photos to post but that will have to wait until I return to snow land or home :)

Today is our last day of Leaderhip (it went by soo fast) and I have more to share in my next post about an exciting new announcement.

Cheers,
K
