Playful Polka Dots Simply Scrappin Kit

One of my favourite things in the world that Stampin Up creates are their Simply Scrappin Kits.  The Playful Polka Dots kit in the Summer Mini is over the top fabulous!  With one kit, I created 4 12x12 double page layouts with tons of leftovers to spare.  Add a little Whisper White card stock, a few stamps and ink and create a ton of cards.

Purchase this Simply Scrappin kit and I will send you this complete PDF document with full instructions and cutting guides to create these pages and photos of these cards.

Here is a sample of two of the pages.

Enjoy the sun today.

Pictures from Skagway

I found some more photos of our trip and thought I'd share them on this crazy weekend of ours.  The kids have ball hockey all weekend and thought I'd show them today since stamping will be coming in second place this weekend.  I hope to be back in here on Monday with ink up to my elbows!!

These are photos of Skagway.

The train depot in the city center of Skagway.
On our excursion to take the train along the White Pass route to the Yukon.
Scenery along the way - it was VERY high.  I'm not so great with heights so while Pete was looking out the window I was staring straight ahead.
Way, way in the distance is our cruise ship.

Lovely waterfall along the route

Passing over one of the many bridges.

At the top.  Northwest Mounted Police, I believe.
As we left Skagway, the ocean was so peaceful and you can even see a glacier in the distance.

Sigh, take me back there. . .

Have a great weekend!

K

Brainstorming at work!

Yesterday I spent the day with my upline, Kim and downline, Allison doing some brainstorming for the upcoming year.  Did you see the smoke coming from my chimney? We had a great morning, went for lunch and then a little more chatter after that.  I'm looking forward to our trip to Stampin Up's Convention.  It's a LONG drive to Salt Lake and just think of all we can accomplish on the road.

I have to check dates (with Pete etc), but keep checking back on my blog to be the first to register in all the great classes we came up with. Look for a Christmas Card buffet (yes, I said Christmas) as early as August, a card class with the super cute Button Buddies set in the new catalogue, an In Colour Summer Card club AND of course many WOW classes planned for each month beginning in August (no class in July).

Whew!  Now onto something I made last week.  This is one set I received during our cruise - Best of Everything. I first saw these images on our cruise travel documents and luggage tags.

I can't show you the full set but here is a card that I created with a few new In Colours.  The sentiment on it is hard to see but it's from Perfect Punches and it says "my friend".

Thanks for stopping by.

More food pics from Alaska

I've been going through my pictures from my trip and realized I missed a ton to share with you.  On the last day at sea there was a HUGE brunch. I ran around with my camera snapping and I wasn't the only one.

The Grand Spread
The bread table

Just cheese - SERIOUSLY!

Cold cuts and salads

Salad anyone?

Are you kidding me?  The dessert spread with two chocolate fountains - white and milk chocolate!
Now off to make myself something to eat.

Summer Splash - means summer is coming!

Summer is supposed to be here today so I'm banking on it.

This card uses theSummer Splash stamp set from the Summer Mini.  It works perfectly with scrapbook pages or in this case a party invitation.

I used the new Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo paired with the Brights Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo.  You'll need your shades for this card!

Scrapbook club tonight!!

I have been holding back this page forever because I wanted to share it with you on my scrapbook club night.  I LOVE this new stamp set in the Summer Mini called Summer Splash.  It is too cute for words.

Close ups of page 1 and 2

I used the Brights Designer Series paper to create the sun.

Torn and inked Crumb Cake cardstock. I spritzed the speckles on the card stock as well.

Three brightly coloured stamped tags decorate the edge.  They are all loosely attached with the new Baker's Twine
I have had a great response to my scrapbooking club this year.  If you are interested in joining my scrapbooking club in September contact me ASAP.  The spaces are filling quickly and I'd love to meet you.  Joining a club is a great way to learn techniques, keep yourself on a budget for supplies and GET those scrapbook pages completed!

Have a great weekend!

Thanks for the ride Canucks!

I'm speechless and sad.  This will take a while to recover from.  Thanks to everyone that emailed, texted me last night. Sorry I didn't get back to you, but it was a hard loss.

I wasn't expecting the reaction the two kids had.  Andrew was MAD that his team didn't score.  I tried to tell them that they tried but that was met with no solace. Then he turned sad.  Nathan was sad.  VERY SAD - bawling sad.  He didn't know why he stayed up until 8:45 for nothing. They are disappointed but they'll be happy once they get playing ball hockey this weekend.

I feel bad for them but (sigh) I guess they'll have to get used to it as the life of a Nucks fan.

Thanks for putting up with my hockey posts and I'll resume card making again - sigh.

Congrats to Boston Bruins and their fans!

K

** I am trying to fix my blog but 1) I can't figure it out tonight 2) I'm too depressed to try.

Something old and something new

YAY!  My favourite time of year is now!!  I love June because I get to "clean out"  my stamps that are retiring and oogle of some of the new things that are coming.

Here are a few of my fave stamps that are retiring. Sniff, sniff. . .
Bella Toile - a gorgeous background stamp paired with a simple flower
Bugs and Kisses - THE best kids stamp set ever!!!  Great solid stamps for multicolour stamping.

And now something new and I can not wait to show you!  Voila!!  Don't ya love Pool Party, So Saffron and Not Quite Navy.  Super fun colour combo!

Hope you enjoy and don't forget to check out those stamp sets that are retiring.

Cheers,
K

** Apparently the Canucks did NOT listen to my plea yesterday.  We'll get'em Wednesday!

Just one more win!

Dear Canucks

Please win tonight so I can get up off my rump.
  • So my kids can eat a meal at the dinner table instead of in front of the TV on game day (although I'm sure they don't mind)
  • So I can listen to something other than TSN, Team 1040 or CBC Hockey Night in Canada
  • So I can finally stamp something new and show it to my customers and change this BLOG background!!!
  • AND so I can stop listening to all the goofy songs on You Tube dedicated to the Canucks.
I'd really appreciate it and so would my family and friends.

Go Canucks Go!!!  As Nathan's would say "Bring it on, Boston!"

Cheers,
K

Downline PMS night!!!

Friday we had a rockin' good time at my Pizza, Music and Stampin night!   The "music" was the hockey game but that's what you get when you come here during the playoffs!!!

This event was exclusively (oo, la la) for my first level downline.  I'd love to invite everyone but until we move into a bigger house I'm afraid I have to limit it to my first level downline.  I was excited to show all the fun things I received while I was on the cruise, give us a chance to check out the new catalogue, and of course stamp!

When they arrived my downline were greeted with this.

Yep, really truly that is the new Idea Book and Catalogue underneath those covers. Everyone received their own cattie completely bound, pocketed and ready to start planning those workshops! Some of them already had them (demonstrators get a sneak peek copy with their first order) but for many it was there first look at the new STUFF!

I planned this make n' take.  I'll be honest, I CASED this from the cruise.

And then the ladies got to work.  I open up my crafting room and all my supplies and they can stamp as much or as little as they like. I had some new stamp sets, to show off and they could create or CASE from my stash whatever they chose.  Here are a few shots from the night.  I missed getting a pic of Monica and Heather but I'll get you next time.

I have an ink obsession!

Tables ready to go!

I can't wait for our next meeting after Convention in July!

If you want to come to our next meeting.  Call me!  We can chat about how Stampin UP can fit into your life.

Cheers,
K
