Scrapbook club

I had to share some of the pics I took on Friday night at our monthly scrapbooking night.  See all the things you can learn when you come to scrapbook club.

Angela learned to sew - AND didn't stick herself with the pin!
Some before pics . . .

See that LOVELY flower!
Voila!  Page complete!

And now album ready with gorgeous photos!

I have to admit that I do struggle each month to create a scrapbook page for my club that everyone will like or fit each and everyone's style. But thanks to Tracy she enlightened me.

She said that she can scrapbook in her style any time from the comforts of her home but why she comes to club is so she can scrapbook NOT in her own style.  Each layout may show her a new way to use pattern paper, ribbons or a different way to make a title.  That got me thinking and feeling a little less stressed to create a page that will suit everyone's style.  Now my goal is just to show a WOW page that will try to show you something new :)  Thanks Tracy!

Reinker Spread Technique

Last night we had our Cardmaker's club meeting and I showed them the reinker spread technique.  I have seen other demonstrators tutorials but thought I'd try to make my own with photos.

Here are the supplies all ready to go - Pretty in Pink, Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red.

Emboss the large flower image with Versamark and white embossing powder onto Shimmery White paper (you need a thicker paper to hold the water in the next step.)
Spritz the paper thoroughly with water.

Add a few drops of reinker fluid to a paint tray.  With an aqua painter pick up the lightest colour of ink and touch the tip of the painter to the water. Repeat in various areas of the flower.

Repeat with all the colours of ink.

Continue until the entire flower is entirely coloured and allow LOTS of time to dry. 1/2 hr or more depending on the amount of water on the surface.

Trim out the flower and add to the card. Voila!

This is where I first found the technique and colour scheme. Thanks Sharon Rogers for a great video.

Try this new technique this weekend - it's pretty fun!

K

Guess what arrived the other day! Soo cute!

I had to share with you what arrived at my door the other day. I love my UPS guy - without fail he arrives on delivery day between 1 and 2pm and although most of the goodies in here weren't for me I just LOVE the box they came in.

I had to oblige so I let them out and now I'm going to play with the few things I did get :)

Card Buffet spaces available!

Today I spent the day busy prepping for my Saturday Card Buffet.  There are still seats available for a fun day of card making.  Contact me ASAP to sign up!

This unseemingly card took FOREVER to prep because it has FIVE layers!  I received this wonderful card from a swap in Nashville from Kathy Hilden.  You could change out the sentiment to say Happy Father's day too!

Thanks Kathy for the great card idea!

I'm BACK!

Hello everyone!

Thanks for sticking with me after my hiatus of posting. It was a great FIVE whole days off from packing lunches, driving to and from school and yes even blogging. It was a well needed break but now I'm ready to get back at it!

While it was a LONG weekend it was not a long weekend away from stamping.  During the break I had a fantastic downline meeting on Sat evening and a great workshop on Sunday.

For our downline meeting we had a PMS night!  Pizza, Music and Stamping!  I invited all those in my first level downline for a night out to stamp.  I ordered the pizzas and each person brought a yummy treat to share.  I made a simple make n'take then the rest of the night was for everyone to raid my stamp room.  The papers, ribbons and inks were flying and the creations were over the top gorgeous!

Here is the crazy set up and all of them hard at work.

Here are a few of the creations and I'll share more over the next week or so.

by Vicki - Love the double border!

by Jacqui - Cute flowers and you'll see she started a button trend!

by Charlene - Love the two toned bird!

by Heather - Great idea to personalize this card!

by Lorissa - Tres elegant!

by Stephanie - Love these two colous together - Pear Pizzazz and Rose Red

During Sale-A-Bration is a great time to join my team since the starter kit is only 182.75 AND you get a bonus bundle of product worth over $60!   Don't miss out on my next PMS night!

Thanks for stopping by!

What a fun brrrr cold day!

We started out our Teachers Convention/Family Day long weekend with a trip to COP (Canada Olympic Park.)  The kids have been asking to go skiing again and today we took that opportunity to do it - but the weather didn't exactly co-operate with our plans.  It was - 20 when we woke up but that didn't deter us and we had booked lessons for all 4 of us, so off to the hill we went.

Now I haven't skied in over 20 years or so and Pete got back on skis last year and the kids took lessons for the first time last year so it was a re-fresher course for all.  What a blast and so well worth it!  Unfortunately Pete is sicker than a dog (and still is) but he braved the day to come with us and we had the best time.  More unfortunate news though - I can barely walk now.  I'm really dreading what tomorrow will feel like :(

Here are the pics of our great day! I know our eyes are shut in some of the pics but try taking a pic when your fingers are frozen.

Look at those smiles!

Even though it was -20!

Look at that form!

You could NOT wipe the smile off this kids face!

Daredevil Nathan tackling the freestyle course!

He won the GOLD!  No, he made a jump, one that he'd been trying all day!

We WILL be doing this again!

Enjoy your Teachers Convention/Family Day Long weekend!

Sew Suite cards

"Sew" it was a lot harder to create that card but I'm happy with the results.

I used the fabric Yoyos again and the Blossom Petals punch for the leaves.  The Button Button set is my new love.  I love how you can use those mini buttons for those small in between spaces.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sew Suite scrapbook page

Good afternoon!

Last week I challenged myself to create a scrapbook page to show case the "Sew Suite" line.  I just loved these little Yoyo flowers they showed us at Leadership and they are so easy to make.  Yes, you have to use a needle and thread but they aren't hard to make at all.

This layout includes the In stitches wheel, the sweet buttons embosslit, Sweet stitches Designer Series paper and fabric, fabric brads and BIG Buttons!!  Okay crazy I know - everything but the stamp set but that is next on my order

This is the page for my Scrapbook group at the end of February.  Off to create a card that goes with this :)  Wish me luck

Cheers,
K

Late post but worth it

Greetings :)

I  have a quick card from the two little men in my life.  Can you tell which one is the minimalist :)

Check back later this afternoon for a scrapbook creation. I LOVE the Sew Suite papers and fabric and I'm creating up a storm :)

K

I {heart} the Square Lattice folder!

I received the coolest swap card at Leadership that was so amazingly simple but so stunning because the entire card front was embossed in the Big Shot.

We tried this again at my Stamp a Stack a few weeks ago and the results made an nice card a WOW card. Thanks Gillian for trying something new!

Here is the card we made last night at my Stamper's 10 club.  Don't you just love the new Build a Cupcake punch.

Thanks for stopping by!

Why I love being a demonstrator?

My friend and team member Allison posted this question on her blog a couple of days ago and I just had to share my reason why I love being a demonstrator.

Relationships!

I have met soooooo many new friends that I NEVER would have met otherwise if it weren't for Stampin UP!  Customers, new downline and fellow demonstrators on some super fun "business" trips. Seriously, it sounds kinda corny but I truly love getting to know all the new people I have met through stamping.  AMAZING!

Of course, I love that I am lucky enough to do something I love everyday and I get to do this job from home!  How many times can you say on your "To Do" list is to make 5 cards :)  I'm super lucky!

AND this is pretty nice too.  Mr Brown brings me cool treats and I HAVE to buy all these crafting supplies because it's my JOB!  How cool is that!

Ribbons for my share!

Cardstock to create with!

FREE stamp sets for SAB!
Don't you want to have a cool job like me?

Cheers,
K
