Club Members gifts

Thanks for checking my blog during this Christmas season.  I am sure you are all busy like me running around getting those last minute things done.  And if not, can you come and help me wrap? Just kidding.

As a thank you to all my club members I made this little gift for them to let them know how much I appreciate them and their friendship.  My scrapbook and card making clubs are so much fun.  I love the camaraderie and friendship that is at our meetings as well as the laughs, crazy stories and of course good food.

On to my project . . .

I LOVE the Baker's Twine for little bows, hanging the jingle bells, threading hockey skate laces :) and many more things. While I love the product I'm not crazy about the packaging.  It's kinda blah and well . . . not pretty.  So one day while I was blog surfing (looking at all kinds of different blogs) I found this idea on Patty Bennett's blog.  Remember her, I got the Santa cello topper idea from her blog too.  She has great ideas and a super LOVELY lady.  I met her and her family while on the Alaskan cruise and despite the fact that they are San Jose Sharks fans, I will forgive her :)

Enough chatter.  Here are my thank you/Christmas gifts for my club members.

I wound the baker's twine around the insides of my empty ribbons spools and placed them in the empty Stack n' Store containers. There is a hole punched on the side of the plastic container and the baker's twine fits right though the hole.  Those are my antiquated instructions but for more detailed ones go check out Patti's blog.  The 2 3/8" Scallop Circle fits great to center the spool of baker's twine and I added a small bow of the baker's twine so I know what colour is inside.

As you can see I had to make quite a few :)
 Thanks for stopping by.

The Stocking punch isn't returning :(

Oh no say it ain't so . . .

Stocking Builder punch 124095
Stampin Up has just announced to demonstrators that this awesome punch will not be available after the Holiday Mini catalogue ordering period AND they will only be taking orders until the current inventory has been depleted.  ACK!

And this is just an educated guess but if they are discontinuing this punch then they must not be keeping the matching stamp set after January 3rd.
Wood 123782 - 33.95 or Clear 123784 - 25.95

Don't wait - be sure you get these two great co-ordinating products ASAP!  While you are shopping online check out all the other great deals on basic punches on the Clearance Rack!

Just a few of my fave samples with this ultra cool set and punch.

Occasions Mini Baby cards! Sneak peek!

As soon as I saw the Occasions Mini there was one set that was on my MUST purchase list.

I know quite a few friends either pregnant or with new babies so I created these two cards to have waiting in the wings.

Can you see any other new products on these cards?

That's right - the ribbon and the small buttons!
This set would be so nice on a scrapbook page, baby annoucements or a Congrats cards!

I love new goodies!

K

Happy Monday! Ho ho ho Santas!

I love Mondays!  It's time to working on my new classes for the new year with NEW goodies!  Yay!  Keep watch for an Occasions Mini kick off party to see some of the new products, new class samples and of course a fun make and take!

BUT before we get to new stuff I have to show you what I've been working on.

Two days ago I opened my BIG mouth and asked Nathan, Do you think you'd like to bring these as treats for your class?

We also made these at the Mom and Me Kids class.

SERIOUSLY!  What was I thinking?  I had wrapping, shopping and other various things to do to get ready for Christmas!

Of course he said YES and I thought why not add his hockey team too!

So I spent two late nights creating these.

Yes, I'm officially nuts! I found the original idea from Patty Bennett's Blog

Thanks for stopping by.

What's up . . . Canuck?

If you have been following my blog since last year's playoff run or know me just a little you will know that I'm a BIG Vancouver Canucks fan in a house full of Canucks hockey fans!  Often there will be 3 boys (2 little and one big) playing hockey in the driveway all showing off their blue and green jerseys!

Rewind to earlier this year when one of my kids camp members bought me the coolest stamp ever!  She found it at a store and thought of me.  I have wanted to make a card with it but just hadn't found the time or inspiration.

Fast forward to earlier this week and VOILA - I found my inspiration!  I found Meghan Nishi's blog from Stampin Connection (online gallery site for Stampin UP demonstrators) and my mouth dropped open when I saw her Canucks card.  Check it out here.

I knew I had to re-create it so here is my version with my awesome stamp from Holly Y.  Thanks Holly and Meghan.

Don't you just love the cute little hockey skates?
They are playing the Carolina Hurricanes tonight so GO CANUCKS GO!

Thanks for stopping by and putting up with my hockey obsession!

Cheers,
K

Cardmaker's Club Creations

Tonight is club night and my last adult event of December!  Woo hoo!   One more class after today and then I'm officially on holidays!  Time to lock myself in my crafting room and begin creating classes and projects for the new year.

Here are the three projects we are creating tonight.  I used the same card map on both cards one with a floral twist and the other with a Christmas flair.  It's a little difficult to see the Mother of Pearl technique in the photo but it's there :)

And the telescoping snow man I CASED from Becky Roberts.  Here is my original post.
 Enjoy your Wednesday!

Lovely as a Tree with snow

The past two or three days in Calgary have been VERY snowy much to the delight of my son.  Snow to me means long commutes, a dirty van BUT a beautiful Christmas feel in the air.  Snow to Nathan means FUN!

Thanks to Deb Kane for the great inspiration.
I saw this fabulous card on Stampin Connection, Stampin UP's idea and message center for demos.  It uses the old favourite Lovely as a Tree stamp set (which I think has been around since the beginning of Stampin UP) and Welcome Christmas.  I added the silver glitter paper and the Mother of Pearl technique on the Baja Breeze card back ground.  What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by.

It's beginning to look a LOT like Christmas!

Sorry for the long weekend break I took off from my blog.  It was a busy Kids camp weekend, a fun workshop and hockey with the kids too.  It's playoff time for the kids!  Andrew scored his first goal and what a timely one as his 8th place regular season team beat the 1st place team.  Nathan's team played really well but unfortunately came up a few goals short.  We'll get'em next weekend.

Anyways, back to the stamping . . .

I had a great workshop with some new stampers on Saturday night and here are the two cards we created to highlight two different types of embossing.

Heat embossing with Bright Hopes - Old Olive and Not Quite Navy
And Dry Embossing with the Big Shot and

a little button bling!
Thank you for a fun night Sarah and friends!  If you would like to plan a fun night with friends contact me to book your new year's workshops.  There are some AWESOME offerings in the new Occasions Mini catalogue coming in January.

K

New goodies!!

What a fun Wednesday I had playing with my new Stampin Up goodies!  I think I have 7 new stamp sets, 4 new packs of Designer Series paper and many other new embellishments and goodies AND not a snowflake or Christmas tree among them!!  These are the pitfalls of starting Christmas in August.  Once it actually comes around I'm tired of making Christmas cards.

Well, that's not entirely true as I have to make my own Christmas cards for this year and of course I'm WAY behind!!

Enough of my complaining.

Here is a small springy sample of some of my new goodies.

Colours used are Riding Hood Red, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride and Confetti White cardstock.

I think there are 5 new items in all on this card.  Can you spot them???

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

K

Adorable "Dancing" Snowman

Hi all

A quick post as I'm busy playing with my new things that just arrived - lucky me!
Soon the Occasions Mini catalogue will be arriving in your mailboxes.  If you don't receive it by Dec 30th then contact me and I will arrange to send you another one.

I found the most adorable snowman on Becky Roberts blog the other day and I knew I had to CASE this for my club meeting next week.  She was inspired by other demos Lauri Randolph and Andrea Shields.   Thanks for the inspiration ladies.

When you wiggle him he dances!  Too funny!

He folds up into a cute snowman looking up!

As you can see there are LOTS of bits to this snowman.  I know my club ladies next week will love making this.

Cheers,
K
