UNDEFINED Fishy cards part 3

Here are the last of my fishy cards . . . for now.  I have to think about my next stamp to carve.  Maybe something to go with my fish set. Like seaweed?  Or bubbles?  Ooo, bubbles sound hard.  Any suggestions?

This one might be a good Valentine card.

And this saying could be great for a Valentine's day card too.  I might add some heart bubbles on this one if I was going to give to a Valentine.

If you are anything like me and Olympics obsessed right now thanks for taking the time to check in.  Go Canada Go!

Cheers,
K

UNDEFINED Fishy cards part 2

I've found my inner stamp carving demon when I started carving those fun fish from this post.
So on the weekend I took the time to work on my "fish set" and create some more cards with my fishy's and the Just Sayin stamp set and Word Bubbles framelits.  They are so much fun!

I just love the Bright colours!!  Maybe it's because it's so WHITE outside!

Hope these add a little cheer to your day! Check back for more fishies tomorrow too!

One more UNDEFINED fish - Next Try it class March 5th

Here is another card I made with my ever growing fish collection. I think I may just make a whole set of shower curtain fish :)

This card I'm saving for our anniversary in June.  I've already shown Pete, but oh well, he might forget about it by the time June rolls around!

Check your schedule and book off March 5th to make some stamps with me.

Thanks for checking in!

UNDEFINED - Creating your own stamp

Yesterday was a great day to sit at home and play with my stamps but instead of grabbing a stamp off my shelf I made my own.

When I carve a stamp I REALLY want to make one I'm going to use and last week I got my inspiration.

Due to some bathroom repairs we had to use the kids bathroom to shower for the past week and their shower curtain was my inspiration.

So in preparation for my Undefined class I got carving.

Looking pretty rough at first.

Hmm, not bad. Time to fix up the high spots.
YAY!  I love how it turned out with ink and a bit of colour!  My new fishy paired with the Just Sayin' stamp set will make some pretty cool cards!

And I love this one too.  Did you notice the background of the card?  Lots of Daffodil Delight fishies.

Check back tomorrow to see the stamp I carved at my class.  DUH! I forgot to get samples of the stamps they carved at my class but it was fun!  I hope you think about joining me at my next UNDEFINED - Try it class on March 5th.

 Cheers,
K

Try it class - Undefined - Carve your own stamps Wed, Feb 5th 6 - 8pm

Last week I attended an Undefined Class taught by my downline - Allison O.  I think she is THE Undefined specialist!  If you check out the Stampin Up home page many of her stamps have been featured on their site :)

I want to have a class with this great kit so I thought I'd see how she taught her class and take some notes for my own future class.

What did I learn?

Tip #1 - Go with a design in mind!   I spent a few moments before the class searching what I might want to carve and looked up some images online.

Tip #2 - Have a great drawing.  A good first drawing will make a great stamp.

Tip #3 - When you are carving move the rubber and not your tool.

There are many more that I wrote down that I will share at my first Undefined class!

133402 Undefined Kit - all you need to get started for just $25.95

Here was the image I found online.

And here is what I carved.  .  .

And my first card . . .

And my second card.

Now what to carve next :)  Any suggestions??

Check your calendar and let me know if you'd like to attend my Undefined - Try it class on Wed, Feb 5th at 6pm.

All are welcome - teens too!

Have a great weekend!

Cheers,
K

Check out this video from Stampin UP.

Here is another one of my stamps I knew I needed to carve.  I saw Martha Inchley's card and loved it.

Sentiment from the Lots of Thanks set

Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Old Olive, Pacific Point and Rich Razzleberry - YUM!

Undefined note cards

I hope you had a fantastic weekend and had a chance to enjoy the nice weather!

I split my weekend between hockey and family time and stamping class on Sunday!  I am happy to share I finished 16 of my own Christmas cards!!  This is the earliest I have EVER started!!  Now the plan it to address them before my next Christmas class.  I'll keep you updated on how that one goes!

The class attendees made a total of 144 cards in one day!!!  Isn't that fabulous!  Now to get started on the Christmas shopping . . .

Kidding . . . just kidding.

Now to why to check in here every day.  CARDS!

I had a few moments to carve a few stamps using the Undefined stamp kit.  There is one retired set from A LONG time ago that I have always loved and can never find.  It's the house from first Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set and so I had a friend stamp her image and then I "copied" it as best I could.

I love making stamps that I can use and use again. This adorable house makes a great house warming card, wedding card or thank you card.

Here is a close up of the stamp.

And each card I stamped is a bit different.  They were all made with the 3 1/2 x 5 note cards from Stampin UP.

Stamped with Pacific Point and the sentiment is from the set Oh, Hello
I used markers to ink the stamp in this card and Basic Gray ink for the sentiment.

This one is stamped in Staz-On and then coloured with markers and a Blender pen.  I used markers on the sentiment as well.

Tomorrow I will share the details of an upcoming class!  I hope you can join me in the fun!

Cheers,
K

One off and one to go!

Morning again :)

How was your morning?  Ours went surprisingly well but it usually is the first few days as the boys are excited about getting to school started.

We spent the entire long weekend getting back into the routine of things going to bed at 9pm and getting up at 7:30, then 6:45 and then 6:20.  Ugh, I'm NOT kidding!  So much so that on Sunday we were all up, dressed and ready to go at 7:30 in the morning.  We went to play tennis at 8am!

Anyways, today was Andrew's first day and Nathan is back to school tomorrow.

Here is the first pic of grade 9!

Here is my creation for today.  It's the return of the Darth stamp :)

This is a result of my weird sense of humour plus being the mom of 2 boys!  We have many light saber wars and it's not uncommon to see the kids on the front lawn with their light sabers.  Often they'll be hopping on one leg or one arm behind their back as they lost limbs in battle.

Thanks for checking in!  Now off to go for bike ride with Nathan on his last day of summer vacation!

Cheers,
K

Undefined - My first carving!! ( a little long)

You know when you have a list of 100 things to do but the only thing you REALLY want to do is not on your list?

That was me on Tuesday!

I have been totally awe-inspired by my downline, Allison Okamitsu and what she has done lately with the new Stampin UP product Undefined.  She has become addicted to carving and I'm completely jealous with what she has done with a little bit of rubber! Go check out her blog!

My Undefined kit arrived and of course I had NO ideas or inspirations on what to carve.  Ok, the usual hockey ideas came to mind and of course, the Canucks logo too but nothing that was CALLING to me.  And then I was folding laundry Tues morning and Voila - The inspiration!  Nathan's Darth Vader t-shirt!

I WANT TO CARVE DARTH VADER!!!

I found an image online (I was not going to attempt this free hand).  I showed Nathan and his response was "Are you sure, Mom?  It looks a little tricky."  Such faith.  Well, I started and quickly realized I should not have started with Darth.  A nice star or heart would have been good.

After a 10-15 minutes (really, I'm not kidding) I had this.

It was looking pretty rough on the rubber side but inked it up and it wasn't too bad.  I had Nathan come and 'accuracy' check it and then inked the wood with my very first hand carved stamp.

Here is my first Darth card.

I used the Photopolymer stamp set Designer Typeset  (132956 - $16.95) for the words.  What a great way to say ANYTHING I want!

Check out this Stampin' UP Video sharing the new Undefined Kit!

 Get yours today!

133402 - $25.95
And don't forget to add the refill kit because once you do one you'll want to do more.
134808 - $12.95 Just the rubber, wood and mounting pieces to make more stamps!
I can't wait to make more Darth cards to share with you.  Stay tuned!

Cheers,
K
