Weekly Deals - Feb 2 - 8 - Decorative Label Tutorial

Wahoo, one of my favourite punches is on sale this week! The Decorative Label punch is used a ton in my stamp room.

Check out this photo tutorial how to layer this image with just one punch.

Stamp and punch out your sentiment or image to be framed plus 2  extra Decorative Labels in your mat colour.

Cut the extra Decorative Label mat pieces in half - vertical and horizontal.

Trim the mat pieces according to the photo.

Apply adhesive to the back and secure the longer pieces to the back showing an outline around the sentiment.

Repat using the end pieces. I used Cucumber Crush card stock so you can see where this piece is placed.

Voila! You can barely see it but the mat around the Decorative Label piece is pieced together.

I've been a bit preoccupied getting ready for a scrapbooking crop this weekend. I'm excited as I 'm actually going to have time to do my OWN stuff! Not for a class, club or special event but actually time to craft for me!  Shocking, I know. You can probably guess I have been looking at old photos, gathering paper and reminiscing a ton!  Today is the REAL school day for us!  Yesterday Nathan claimed he pretty much has met his new best bud at school and he was only there for 1 hour!  I knew he wouldn't have trouble meeting friends.  And Andrew is (so far) loving the bus and train to school.  I know it won't last but we'll go with it for now.  And math homework on the first day.  That's high school for ya!

Weekly Specials and a confession

Now for my confession.  After many years of being a beloved Blackberry user I have jumped ship.  I have guilted many of my former bbm buddies for jumping ship and now I'm joining them as well.  Big learning curve going on here and I'm missing my keys on my phone.   I know I'll get used to it but so far I have had many variations of Sobeys - So eye, Donets, soy eye  . . .  geesh :)

Keeping the plastic on for now :) but any recommendations for cases are greatly appreciated.

We just arrived back from our camping trip to Radium, BC (yes my second camping trip) and we had a blast.  I'll post some pics tomorrow once I find the camera in the mountains of laundry and un-packing.  I guess I'm seeing the downsides to camping now- everything must be washed because it smells like the camp fire.

Weekly Specials

CRAZY BUSY day yesterday!! 

 I was home all of 20 min between 9:30 and 5pm.  And then to top it off Nathan went outside after dinner to roller blade and he fell on his wrist and couldn't pick up his water bottle, bend it side to side or even squeeze his hand.  Pete offered to take him so I had some reprieve.  

So I GOT nothing creative accomplished or any of my planned work done either.  That's what today is for!

Happy Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day everyone!

We spent a fun weekend in Edmonton for Andrew's ball hockey tournament and a fun day at the waterpark too.

Despite not making the medal rounds the kids had a great time watching all the other teams from Calgary, swimming in the pool with friends and pizza party and tons of other fun!

Today marks Day 1 of a new Stampin UP year and I'm super excited to get this year started.  New goals, new classes and so much more!

Weekly Specials

Happy Tuesday!  It's usually a Monday when I'm saying this but because of yesterday's holiday I'm all turned around!

Hope you had a fantastic day off with your family.  We had a shopping day (because it was supposed to rain and shopping is a good inside activity) and we needed a few new clothes for my growing boys.

Andrew's grade 9 celebration is coming up and Nathan is heading off to outdoor school this week so we were in desperate need of a shopping trip.  I was lucky as both of them were on good days and it wasn't too painful for them. 

Believe it or not Andrew picked these handsome new threads and despite his detest for purple he actually AGREED with me that the purple looked better with the his gray suit (HE PICKED OUT).  Shocking I know!

Plus a few other firsts such as a REAL TIE (Nathan picked it out) and it even has a small pattern on it!!  WHOA!  Now to hold on and hope he doesn't grow too much before June 5th :)

Okay, now on to some stamping business which I'm sure is why you checked in!
