More Alaskan sights

One of the most amazing things we did in Alaska was a Whale Watching excursion in Juneau.  The first part of the excursion was a trip to see the Mendenhall Glacier and then a boat tour around the waters of Juneau.

A close up of the glacier
In the waters around the glacier there were smaller icebergs floating around and a small piece came to the shore.

I wonder how old this piece of ice actually is??
After this we took a bus to Auke Bay and off we went on our whale watching tour.  It didn't take long before we saw several humpback whales.

But then we found a hot spot for orcas - WOW!  That was stressful for Pete with the camera - whales at 3 o'clock, 9 o'clock, and 6 o'clock.   ACK, too many whales.

What a spectacular day!!

Cheers,
K
