A little DinoROAR!

When I saw this set in the new catalogue I FREAKED OUT!  Maybe it's because I am a teacher or maybe it's because I'm a mom of boys but what an awesome dinosaur set!

They were dinosaurs that weren't too scary and not too cartoony either.
I was excited to make my first card with this set but I didn't have a ton of time to watercolour it so I opted for simple but WOW.

the bottom message says "ROAR! (that means happy birthday in dinosaur)"

I used the Well Worn Designer Series paper as well as the new Peek a Boo frames die.

The BIG job!

So are you curious what I've been up to?  Nothing glamorous just a lot of hard work!  I'm getting ready for the Christmas Stamp a Stack on Sept 25th and that means a TON of card stock to cut.

When I added up all the participants and the fact that each person is making 20 cards that makes 120 cards of one design TIMES 5 different designs.  AAACCCCKKK!!!!!  So I'm off to cut more than 600 cards. Wish me luck!

This not possible without my new Simply Scored and Tabletop Paper cutter

Good news though I have added another date for the Christmas Card Stamp a Stack.  If you are free on Oct 1st at 6-9 and you want to get a jump start on your Christmas cards then contact me ASAP!

Here are the finished cards.

Come sample many of the new products in the Holiday Mini catalogue. Create 20 cards - 5 different styles, 4 of each style (includes envelopes.)

Cost - If you pay by Sep 18: $30 (includes a bonus card)
If you pay after Sep 18: $35

Place a minimum order of $75, excluding shipping and taxes and receive a $30 refund on your class fee.

Supplies - Please bring all your own adhesives.

Are you tired of Christmas?  I'll have a non Christmas creation tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by.

What a great weekend!

Sorry I didn't get a chance to post on Saturday but it was a crazy weekend with my Friday night club and kids camp all weekend.

We made those adorable back packs with the Flirtatious paper but I forgot to share with you the video where I received the idea and pattern. Click here for the link. Thanks to Maria Vanderform for the inspiration and tutorial.

Here is a photo (sorry, it's a poor photo) of the project we did for Club Create.

We came up with a few polite sayings we could have for our door decoration like Do not Disturb and Having quiet time.  Then we came up with a few specific ones like Keep out insert sister's name! and Do not Enter Mom and Dad!

All of the girls had a great time and I can't wait to show them some new stamping techniques, room decor projects and much more!

Thanks for stopping by.  Tomorrow I'll share with you what I'll be doing over the next few days.  It's a BIG job I'm tackling!!!

Paper Crafter's Workshop

Yikes! I almost to post something for today!  That would never do :)  Just kidding.

Today is my nemesis day - Fridays!  It always means running around to piano, picking up kids, groceries and errands.  Most people look forward to Fridays but not me.

What I do have to look forward to is a fun weekend of Stampin UP!  My Stamper's 10 group meets tonight for the first time since May and we are going to be scrapbooking - Yippee!  And this weekend is my first weekend of Kids Camp.

I posted a sneak peek of my Paper Crafter's Workshop project a few days ago but here is the complete project.

Can you guess what it is?

A cute paper back pack!

Filled with 3x3 note cards

A close up of the cards
Sorry the photos aren't the greatest but you get the idea!  We're going to have a fun time this weekend. Don't you just love all those pinks and purples - girly colours!

Have a fun warm weekend!

Deck update - Yahoo!!!

Well, I guess from the post title you can figure out the good news!  As I type Pete is finishing up staining the bottom deck.  Yippee!!

I had to share some pictures of our FIVE days of work!!  One of our big regrets is not having a large before pictures but this was the colour of our deck.  It was nice when we first painted it but after one year it was peeling like crazy.

Well now it looks like this!!

And here is the bottom deck (before it was stained tonight).

Every square inch of that deck we sanded and it was hard work but boy does it look fabulous now!!  I think Pete is believing it was all worth it at least I think he is.

Thanks for stopping by and the nice comments yesterday!  Comments like that do make blogging worthwhile. It's nice to know that people are actually reading my drivel.

Tomorrow I'll be back with a stamping related post.

Kids Camp begins this weekend

Do you have a crafty kid?  Is she interested in having a great time at kids camp creating with glitter, inks and paper?  I have a few spots open for my monthly kids camp.  Club Create is for 7-10 year olds and Paper Crafter's Workshop is for 11 years and up.  We meet once a month at my house and all the mess and everything remains at my house - it doesn't get better than that!

Contact me for more details.

Here is a sneak peek at the Paper Crafter's Workshop project. The rest will be revealed in the coming days.

** A question for blog followers/readers - I'm "thinking" about posting less frequently now that school has started which has made life considerably crazier.  Currently, I post every day except Sundays but what if I went to 3 times per week, is that good or bad?  Would that make it easier to follow me rather than having days and days of posts to read if you miss a week??  Do I post too much??  I need your help!!

Thanks for the feedback.

Gently Falling Scrapbook page

I'm back like I promised :)

I'm excited to share my first scrapbook page for this month's club meeting.  It took me a while to actually sit down and create it as I had many ideas floating about in my head for quite some time.  Once I committed myself to begin creating it came together quite quickly.

As a demonstrator, I am fortunate enough be rewarded with some free products from Stampin UP.  At my title of Senior Consultant, I receive a bundle of products to start each new catalogue period.  The Holiday mini catalogue bundle included the Gently Falling stamp set, Spice Cake Designer Series paper, Really BIG buttons and the co-ordinating Spice Cake fabric.  I have used quite a few of these products on cards, framed art pieces and even my card keeper box but now to create a scrapbook page.  Okay, enough babbling, here it is.

I added a technique to the page as well - Faux Suede.  And some sewing with the gathered fabric on the edge.

Some two step, two tone stamping with the same ink pad - More Mustard, Cajun Craze and Pear Pizzazz.

A little button bling with the REALLY BIG BUTTONS and 1/8" Taffeta ribbon threaded through the holes.

I hope my club ladies like this page.  I'm going to offer up something I haven't done before.  If you would like to purchase a do it yourself page kit I will create one for you for just $10.  All the supplies, photos and instructions will be included in the kit for you to create at home. I will include the pieces to create the page exactly as it is in my sample.  Orders for this fall page will be taken until Sept 16th.  If you live outside the Calgary area then shipping will be added to the cost.

If there is enough interest I will consider doing this for future scrapbook pages.

Have a great sunny day!

Cheers,
K
